Classic Car Overview

INCOMING INVENTORY--White with White leather interior with Black carpeting, 4.8 Liter V12, 5-Speed manual gearbox, 69,500 Kilometers/43,000 miles from new, Long term ownership, Previously sold and serviced by Autosport Designs, Inc. Widely regarded as the most outrageous car ever built, the Countach represented the promise of automotive design throughout the 70s and 80s. While there have been faster cars built, no car before or since has the presence of a Countach. The world met Lamborghinis Countach at the 1971 Geneva Motor Show. Styled by Marcello Gandini of Carrozzeria G. Bertone, who had created the earlier Miura, it struck out in new dimensions. Constructed almost entirely of trapezoidal aluminum panels over a space frame, it was but 42 inches high and 163 inches long. The most outrageous feature was what is now called Lambo doors, hinged at the front with horizontal hinges so that they swing upward in scissor fashion. Not simply for art, the doors are useful, in that they allow opening in tight spaces. Power comes from a mid-mounted 4.8 liter V-12 with six side draft Weber Carburetors producing 375 BHP @ 7000 RPM and 302 ft-lbs of torque @ 5200 rpm. This Countach is capable of 0 to 60 mph in 5.0 seconds with a top speed of 178 MPH. Finished in striking all-white livery and equipped with the optional rear wing, this Countach 5000 S is the 595th Countach built and one of 321 examples of the 5000 S manufactured between 1982 and 1985. This Countach is said to have been purchased new by a member of the Saudi Arabian royal family in 1984 and delivered by Lamborghini to their well-known, long-time Lamborghini dealership Achilli in Milan. Achilli was responsible for RoW (Rest of the World) markets and the delivery of new cars when ordered. This Lambo Countach was imported to Norway in 1987 by prominent Lamborghini collector, Harald Skjldt. Autosport Designs, Inc. also had the pleasure of selling the x-Frank Sinatra P400 Miura to Mr. Skjldt many years ago. Mr. Skjldt Lamborghinis have always been kept in concours condition, many having been shown at well-known concours around the world. This Lambo changed ownership 2005, the Countach was then imported to the UK housed in a prominent collection with continued maintenance to a high standard by its collection management. The Countach has received an engine out service, as well as a bare metal repaint in 2009. The Countach remained in this collector ownership until December 2024 when purchased by Autosport Designs, Inc. and air freighted to New York Autosport Designs, Inc. and offered for resale. Subsequently sold to a good friend and client of Autosport almost immediately, this Countach received a complete and thorough servicing as well as new tires, all records are on file. Once completed, the Countach was taken to Monterey car week 2025 and shown at The Quail a Motorsport Gathering and well as being enjoyed up and down the coast, to and from Big Sur for a bit of pleasurable California driving along with Team Autosport Designs. For 2025 Monterey car week, we assembled automobiles and owners to enjoy the weeks California car culture and lifestyle. Along with this Countach we assembled several more of the worlds finest automobiles, both vintage and supercars to be enjoyed car week. It was a truly unforgettable time and enjoyed by all. Still jaw droppingly beautiful and menacing, even by todays standards, the Countach has lost none of its presence since the day it was launched to the public many years ago. This represents an exciting opportunity to acquire a rare, side draft carbureted Countach 5000 S that has always been enthusiast collector owned and which has been cared for properly. This is what modern day Italian supercars have been modeled after, a true icon of the Italian supercar world.
