Classic Car Overview

1984 Dodge D100 Short Bed Pickup For consignment, a 1984 Dodge D100 short bed pickup showing 76,811 miles, but the true miles are unknown. Born with a slant six, this baby now houses a 318ci V8 with a 4-barrel and hunkers down over Torque Thrust wheels. Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area. Exterior Some nice custom touches create a unique presentation, beginning with the two tone application of copper paint over Beige Sand in shiny two stage coverage. The center of the hood and the cabs lid are in contrasting copper as in the tailgate insert with the iconic Dodge Ram stamped into the steel. Up front, the headlight bezels have been painted flat black for a slightly sinister look and the ram hood ornament is head down, ready to buck forward. Side mirrors now reside at the top of the A-pillar but perhaps our favorite feature is the exhaust tips cut into the rear fender. That custom touch however, may be outdone by the stunning wood on the bed and even with a few scratches, it, and the stainless rails, is very attractive. 15-inch American Racing Torque Thrust wheels carry slightly staggered tires with a late 2020 date code. Imperfections include some patina at the rocker seam, some flaking paint and bubbling low on a panel, and a tail light lens thats cracked. Otherwise, the paint is in nice condition. Interior Brown and beige is the logical inside palette that begins on the door panels which gives a slight rugged vibe and has the patina to back it up, but both are fully intact. The brown vinyl bench is in immaculate condition, accented by beige seat belts and facing a wood rimmed steering wheel with three spokes and a glossy finish. Up front, the standard instrument cluster is backed by simulated wood and augmented by a trio of Sunpro gauges in the center and a tachometer perched on the dash. A Sony AM/FM/CD player rocks the tunes and talk radio, and a Hurst automatic shifter rows the truck into gear sitting atop a makeshift base. Like the dash pad, the tan carpet below shows a touch of patina but the painted ceiling is clean and the full width rear view mirror gives you a global view of whats behind. Drivetrain Chrome valve covers and heat wrapped headers dress up the clean engine bay where we find a 318ci V8 topped by an Edlebrock intake manifold and 4-barrel carburetor. Behind it, a 3 speed automatic sends power to an 8 inch rear with 3.23 gears. We note a brake booster and an aluminum radiator in the bay as well. Undercarriage Clean and driver quality underneath where the headers give way to dual exhaust and FlowMaster mufflers before exiting through the body on the sides. There are no catalytic converters on board. Brakes consist of power disc up front and power drums in the back and the lowered suspension includes front coil springs and front control arms from a van, and rear leaf springs with a rear axle flip. Drive-Ability You dont have to step up to get into this truck, which is a nice feature and it rides like a car as well. The 318 fires up with a healthy exhaust note that might be best heard in a tunnel as the side exits make their music. The truck has adequate power, tracks straights, stops, turns, and handles well overall. We note the headlights, turn signals, and horn are not working so its daytime driving for now! All other functions on board including the added gauges, operate as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. This is a great looking truck with some nice custom touches and an outstanding stance, but lets not forget about the nearly bullet proof 318 under the hood, a free breathing powerplant with a 4-barrel feeding it dino juice. Built for ranch work, now ready for street play, this D100 is one good looking Dodge! 1B7FD14H3ES362307 1-USA B-Dodge 7-Truck F-4001 Thru 5000 GVWR D-2 Wheel Drive 1-1/2 Ton D100 4-Standard Cab H-3.7 Liter I6 1bbl 3-Check Digit E-1984 S-Warren, MI Assy Plant 362307-Sequential Unit Number Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (thats more than 8 acres!).
