VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. Classic Car Overview

1984 Datsun 300ZX - Final Year of Datsun (before becoming Nissan) - All Original Example - Family Owned Since New - 2.9L V6 with 5-Speed Manual Gearbox (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this vehicle on a website other than our main website, its possible that only some of our many photographs of this car are presented due to website limitations. To be sure you access all the photographs, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) From the start, the Z cars were recognized as a great overall package thanks to great handling, efficient engines, and comfortable interiors. The evolution to the Z31 generation, like the car you see here was a radical change in styling, and the price went up with it. The cars were a great bang for the buck, but the higher price point than other competitors meant that the cars didnt move off the showroom floors as quickly as expected. The Z31 generation Z has aged well, and a number of examples are popping up that are in great condition. So many great examples still popping up here and there are a testament to the build quality and the care that the Z owners felt the cars deserved. The example that we offer for your consideration checks all the right boxes, especially that of this generation Z being a model that is quickly becoming a collector car. There are a few points where evidence of its age can be found: a few nicks or small scratches in the paint, the familiar wear on the paint of the outer door handles. All pretty minor cosmetic blemishes, and to be expected from a highly original 36 year old car. The important thing to keep in mind is the condition of the body itself - clean and solid. Panel gap is just how it should be, paint is glossy and even throughout, chrome trim is very nice, T-Tops are clear with nice seals, lights and lenses are in great condition, and you cant miss the condition of those bright alloy wheels! This is a car that has been very well cared for by one family, and just the way we like cars - garage kept. Getting behind the wheel is a treat, not only to drive this awesome classic, but its also a visual treat. An 80s visual treat. Comfortable leather seats, glass t-tops, graphic equalizer on the (big) stereo, thick steering wheel and shifter close at hand, and the piece dresistance: the digital gauge cluster. The interior is in very nice condition, and like the exterior, its obvious that the interior was well cared for just as the rest of the car was. Under the hood is a 2.9L V6 which output plenty of power and torque compared to performance cars of the day. A 5 speed manual gearbox handles gear selection while power is delivered to the rear wheels, just as all generations of Z cars preceding. The Turbo version of the Z was slightly quicker than the V6, but the reviews from the experts were all around positive in regard to the Z31 generation Z. The 300ZX was an all new design to replace the outgoing 280ZX, and although it was a big change from the familiar shape of the previous Z cars, it was a positive change. The 300ZX performed well, offered a luxurious interior, and possessed handsome good looks. It could be driven gingerly around town, and taken to the track or autocross on the weekends. Style and performance were areas that the Z was not challenged in. This one family owned Z is a beautiful example of a Japanese sports car that is quickly becoming a collector car.
