Classic Car Overview

Exterior Color: Hugger Orange
Interior: Tan Leather
Engine: 350 Cubic Inch 205HP
Transmission: Automatic 4 speed with overdrive
Miles: 22669

This is one of only 2 factory Hugger Orange Corvettes built in 1984. Robert Stempel, the GM of Chevrolet in 1983, authorized that 2 Corvettes be painted Hugger Orange, at the factory, for Gilmore/Foyt Racing. One Corvette was for A.J. Foyt and one was for Jim Gilmore. Jim Gilmore owned Gilmore Chevrolet, Cadillac, Pontiac in Kalamazoo Michigan and Abrahams Chevrolet in Miami Florida. He sponsored Championship race cars from 1967 - 1990 and was partnered with A.J. Foyt from 1973 to 1990. Jim Gilmore passed away in 2001 as a result of a freak traffic accident..

This 1984 Corvette was Gilmores Corvette. All of the documentation, original window sticker, factory special paint work order, original manual, and instructions, registrations and photo history come with the car. This Corvette was part of The well known Bob McDorman collection for years and was displayed next to Johhny Carsons and Diane Shores former Corvettes. Photos of when the car was part of this collection are included.

As for the Corvette itself, it has 22,669 original miles on it. It is a highly optioned car with six way power seat, power door locks, cruise control, Delco Bose stereo with cassette, heavy duty radiator, Z51 handling package, rear window and side mirror defrosters, and saddle leather seats.
