1983 Porsche 944 Coupe

For sale is this rare 1983 Porsche 944, the first year imported to the US with only 15,000 units brought in. It is also in a more unique color Sienna Red Metallic. Comes with the original owners manual, spare tire, spare tools, and roof storage sleeve for removable roof all in good condition.

Vehicle was originally a CA car I bought in 2007 and then moved to MO in 2018. I have the blue CA plate if buyer wishes. Vehicle is in very good mechanical condition; 5000 miles on new timing belts and water pump, in tank fuel system replaced at same time, both engine reference sensor and speed sensor replaced slightly before that, ignition cap and rotor replaced 8,000 miles ago, rear diff/transaxle fluid changed last year. New battery installed last year. Was a semi-daily on nice days for last couple years. Pop up headlights operate smoothly, all lights function with exception of fog lights which need bulbs was going to replace with yellow lenses (one lens has rock impact) and never got to it. No leaks and runs strong, is a blast to carve up country corners. AC compressor was removed due to failure back in 2019/2020 and alternator relocate bracket installed for proper delete.

Current engine in car is not original, it was replaced by owner I bought from back in 2007 after he overheated it. I am looking for paperwork that shows mileage on engine that was installed in car as it was lower than mileage on car (113,xxx at the time). I have the original engine complete with original oil pan, intake, ect. Anyone with time and money could restore vehicle to numbers matching. Clutch was replaced when he replaced the engine as well.

Power windows work intermittently need new switches which I have just never got to replacing them yet. Radio installed is obviously not factory, head unit and front speakers were replaced with A/M in 2007 when I bought it as radio in car at that time was not original and was a non-functioning cassette deck. Power antenna does not operate, and folding faceplate has gotten erratic on folding up and down but still operates in both positions, radio has USB access.

I also have a full set of brand new HAWK brake pads I got for free with contingency money that was expiring and had to spend. Tires are Cooper A/S I put on to save some money, but put some sticky summer tires on and the grip and responsiveness will amaze you.

Passed MO inspection Oct 2025. Clean title in hand.
