1983 Mercedes-Benz 380SL for sale. Built in July of 1983 at Mercedes-Benzs Sindelfingen factory and finished new in Signal Red with a Palomino interior. This U.S.-specification example is a later build, benefiting from timing-chain improvements, more refined emissions and drivability tuning, and incremental suspension updates that make them smoother and tighter cars than early examples. This car includes its factory hardtop, a recently replaced timing chain, recent repair orders showing $4,500 in mechanical work, a clean Carfax report with no accidents or issues, and a clear, California title.

Power comes from the original 3.8-liter M116 V8, paired with the factory automatic transmission. The Carfax documents meaningful mechanical servicing over time, including timing chain, guides, and tensioner replacement, suspension work, transmission service, and air-conditioning maintenance. More recently, the car has received thoughtful attention addressing common R107 wear items: the steering coupler, both front tie rods, and the center/drag link were replaced and followed by a proper alignment. The wood trim is in nice condition, the door panels and carpets present well, and the headliner is clean. All gauges are clear and functioning properly, switches operate as intended, and the car is fitted with an AM/FM/CD stereo with Bluetooth, allowing modern connectivity while retaining a period-appropriate appearance. The factory air conditioning is in working order.
