From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Savoy Faire is Everywhere

Classic Car Overview

GR Auto Gallery is pleased to present this 1983 Jeep CJ-7 Renegade 4x4 for consideration. The CJ-7 is the 7th generation of the legendary Jeep produced from 1976-1986. It features a wheelbase 10 longer than the CJ-5 and to help improve handling and stability, the rear section of the chassis was stepped out to allow the road springs and dampers to be mounted closer to the outside of the body. During its 11 year production run, 379,299 CJ-7s were built.

The CJ-7 offered here shows very well and has an aggressive stance. It has a 3 inch body lift with 33x12.5R15 Thornbird tires. It is powered by its 6 cylinder engine paired with a manual transmission. The current owner recently gave it a new exhaust manifold, new header with new mufflers, 4 new shocks, 2 new steering arm shocks, new stereo with bluet tooth, new carburetor, new valve cover. Other highlights include a full canvas top with soft doors, hard doors, new fuel tank and sending unit, bimini top, owners manual with shop manual, custom wood door panels and center console with wood steering wheel, Corbeau seats, power brakes and power steering.

The Jeep CJ 7 Renegade are among the most desirable versions and have become an American icon. An example such as this gives the advantage of having a fun vehicle that you can use and enjoy while it continues to steadily appreciate in value. No wrong decision here at this price.
