Classic Car Overview
- Miles unknown due to previously broken speedometer cable. Probably 180K+
- This beast has been a daily driver for most of its life. Runs like a top.
I bought this in 2016 from a family that had used it as a daily driver for most of its life. However, it sat behind the garage for a few years because it had a lot of deferred maintenance. I drove it 70 miles to get it home, even though it desperately needed brakes, tires, and exhaust.
Other stuff to know:
- Four-wheel drive is fully functional (2H, 4H, N, 4L)
- Engine: 4.9L/300 ci, straight 6-cylinder (bullet-proof engine) good oil pressure; 4BH Holley carb
- Differentials are in good shape
- Starts every time
- Runs smoothly
- Comes with a 5-gallon bucket of extra parts (like any Ford should)
Since I've owned it:
- The top was off every summer. The top comes off and goes back on easily, but it does take two people. All weatherstripping and bolts are new and included.
- Fewer than 7K miles have been added in my care (because I initially bought it to tinker with and I don't have time to drive it.)
- NEW: Carburetor (Nov., 2025)
- NEW: stereo that looks like the original but is actually digital and Bluetooth-capable. (But guess what: the original stereo is functional, and you can have it.)
I have added:
- New tires
- New meaty-sounding exhaust (it rumbles)
- New catalytic converter requirements
- New windshield
- New brakes
- New suspension
- New horn button
- New steering knuckle
- New alternator
- New taillights/parking lights/headlights/blinkers
- New blinker fluid. (IFYKYK)
- New battery
- New water pump
- New thermostat
- New radiator (and coolant)
- New hoses
- New belts
- New clutch
- New carpet
- New/refab door panels and dashboard
- New wipers
- New rear door window motor and gears
- New speakers
- New weather stripping all around
- Some new trim as required
Notes:
- Seats: Passenger and rear are original and in good condition; driver seat is original and in poor condition; high-quality seat cover that mimic the originals have been in place since 2017
- Front seat captains chairs (original)
Also: I have all of the original 1983 shop manuals for this truck. ALL of them. Its like a 1980s bookshelf of encyclopedias.
Despite all the NEW needed stuff, Ive been keeping the Bronco as original as possible.
Come look at it and take it for a ride. Its so good.
