1982 Toyota Land Cruiser FJ40

This 1982 Toyota FJ40 is a beautifully preserved classic, showing very good condition with mostly original equipment and less than 72k miles. As one of the final model years for the U.S. market FJ40, it carries all of the desirable late production updates while maintaining the rugged, iconic look that makes these trucks so collectible.

The body is straight and solid with no rust issues, all of the paint presents extremely well for its age. All panels fit cleanly, doors shut crisply, and the truck retains its original hardtop and factory interior pieces. Custom roof rack as pictured in first 2 photos is included but is not currently installed on the vehicle. Inside, the cabin is clean and well kept-seats, dash and gauges(which are all operational) look great with minimal wear. There is a small section of piping on the outside of the driver's side seat that is starting to come undone(see picture) and there is also a very small crack(about 1") in the dash. Mechanically, it runs strong and smooth, with the legendary in line 6 cylinder Toyota 2F engine, starting easily and reliably. The 4WD system, brakes, and suspension all operate exactly as they should.

This FJ40 has not been hacked up, modified or restored. It has been well kept and maintains its authentic character, making it an ideal example for collectors, enthusiasts, or anyone wanting a dependable vintage Land Cruiser that's ready to enjoy immediately!

Clean, original, low mileage FJ40's are increasingly hard to find-especially in this condition. If you are looking for a solid, honest, last-year FJ40, this is the one.

The original owners lived in New Mexico so this vehicle spent most of its life in ideal conditions away from humidity and salt air. I purchased this vehicle in December of 2020 and it has always been garage kept and has never been rained on nor driven on wet roads. Since the time of purchase, the following has been completed:
-April of 2021 - New undercoat application, new old man emu suspension, new water pump, hoses, thermostat, plugs, wires, cap, rotor button, valve cover gasket, brake clean and pressure wash engine. The oil/filter was also changed. Muffler was replaced and the existing tires were replaced with 5 brand new P31x10.50R15/6LT 109S General Grabber A/TX RWL. New vinyl floor liner installed throughout the vehicle as well as a sound dampening mat underneath which also serves to reduce heat/cold.
-Summer of 2022 - replaced interior door pulls and side view mirrors
-May of 2022 - installed new Retrosound blue tooth head unit to accompany existing JL speakers in the rear
-September of 2023 - oil/filter change and new radiator installed
January of 2024 - new LED headlights (hi and low beams)
-August of 2025 - new battery installed
-October of 2025 - oil/filter change, dry ice engine cleaning, replaced front suspension knuckle and resealed front axle. Remove/replaced rear axle propeller shaft, and remove/replace rear crankshaft main oil seal, including R&I transmission, clutch(where applicable) and flywheel.
