Classic Car Overview

This 1982 Porsche 928 is powered by a 4.5-liter V8 linked with a five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential and is finished in black over Can Can leather upholstery. It is equipped with 16 seven-hole alloy wheels, a sunroof, front and rear spoilers, pop-up headlights, a Porsche Classic stereo, and air conditioning. Nearly $50k in subsequent work included repairing the lights and gauges, servicing the transmission, machining the flywheel, and replacing the clutch, timing belt, tires, brake rotors, and several gaskets, hydraulic cylinders, and oil and fuel system components. This 928 is now offered in Utah on dealer consignment with a Porsche Production Specifications certificate, a spare set of wheels, an owners manual, service records, removed parts, a Carfax report, and a clean Montana title.
The car is finished in black (700) and features the Competition Package with front and rear spoilers. It also has a sunroof, a rear window wiper, fog lights, and pop-up headlights with washers. Work under current ownership included refinishing the lower parts of the doors, replacing the sunroof motor and hood struts, and repairing the headlights, fog lights, power mirrors, and taillight indicators. A ceramic coating was applied in November 2023. The windshield washer is inoperative.
The 16 seven-hole alloy wheels wear polished covers and are mounted with 225/50 Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires. A set of 16 phone-dial alloy wheels with Pirelli tires is included in the sale and displayed in the gallery. Braking is handled by discs at each corner. Under current ownership, the power steering pump, power steering belt, brake booster, brake master cylinder, brake lines, and brake rotors and pads were replaced.

The cabin is trimmed in Can Can leather that extends to the headliner, A-pillars, and door panels. Interior appointments include a Porsche Classic stereo, air conditioning, and power windows. The rear window defroster was repaired and the air conditioning system was recharged under current ownership.

The leather-wrapped steering wheel frames a 170-mph speedometer, a 7,600-rpm tachometer, and auxiliary gauges for coolant temperature, fuel level, oil pressure, and voltage. The six-digit odometer shows 36k miles, approximately 2k of which were added under current ownership. The Carfax report indicates that a Not Actual Miles title brand was issued in Missouri in January 1988, and total mileage is unknown. The fuel gauge and voltage meter were repaired under current ownership.

The 4.5-liter V8 was factory rated at 231 horsepower and 265 lb-ft of torque, which is sent to the rear wheels through a rear-mounted five-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. Under current ownership, the transmission was serviced, the flywheel was machined, the coolant was flushed, and the following components were replaced:

The exhaust system from the catalytic converter onwards was replaced under prior ownership before 2021, and the selling dealer states that it is a period-style ANSA system. Additional underside photos are provided in the gallery below.
The Porsche Production Specifications certificate shows the factory colors and optional equipment along with a completion date in January 1982.
