Classic Car Overview

1982 Porsche 911 SC
There are few cars more closely associated with the 1980s than the G-Body Porsche 911. Thanks in large part to their classic styling, exciting driving dynamics and legendary reliability, these 911s make the perfect classic that you can actually use. This 1982 911 SC is a beautiful example that has been under the care of just two owners from new. The original owner acquired the vehicle through the European Delivery program before having it shipped back to his home in Kansas City, MO where he enjoyed ownership until it was acquired by the consignor in 2020.
Finished in Wine Red Metallic, this 911 SC features a stunning specification and numerous desirable upgrades that have been carried out through the cars life to improve both performance and reliability. At the time of cataloging, this 911 shows 90,615 miles and presents in very clean, largely original condition. The deep burgundy metallic paint is complimented by a set of black-center Fuchs wheels, and the car has a perfectly squat stance, having been lowered slightly. From the factory, this car was optioned with rectangular front fog lights, and European-spec Hella H4s have been installed in place of the original headlights.
The interior is equally as nice as the exterior, with factory sport-seats wrapped in light Papyrus leather. The 3-spoke steering wheel frames Porsches legendary 5-gauge instrument layout, with a large central tachometer and a 170 mph speedometer. A Porsche Classic head unit has been installed which fits the 911 with navigation as well as satellite radio - and the original Blaupunkt is included if you want to switch it back to stock. The A/C system has been converted to R134A, making this air-cooled SC even more usable. In addition, this car features an ultra-rare factory heated windshield, verified by its Production Specification Spec Sheet (a.k.a. Porsche Certificate of Authenticity), an option weve never seen before! Interestingly, its operation functions via the dash-mounted rear window defroster switch. The fact that this irreplaceable windscreen is still in place is amazing indeed, making this collectible Porsche even more so.
Sitting out back is a 3.0-liter air cooled flat-6 that produces 201 horsepower and 197 lb-ft of torque. These engines are legendary for their second to none build quality and stout design that means piling on miles should be largely headache free. That is even more true with this example which has been modified to address the two main problems these cars have - Carrera chain tensioners have been installed along with a pop-off valve on the airbox. Additionally, a Fabspeed exhaust gives the car a great tone, and the original exhaust is included if you want to bring the car back to stock.
The reason air-cooled 911s have become so collectible in recent years is the combination of a truly great classic car experience, paired with reliability and usability that few other classics can match. This 911 SC is a beautifully original example, with just a few modifications that enhance the driving experience. When you combine all of that with a trove of documentation and just two owners from new, this is truly an unrepeatable example.
