If you're a fan of vintage Japanese cars, be sure to check out Nissan's online heritage site. There are tons of vintage Nissan pics and specs going all the way back to the 1920s. Each featured car or truck has relevant specs and a little "detail" tab that gives some background on that specific car.
The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.
Classic Car Overview
Wanted good home for a beautiful 1982 Mercedes 380SL. I am the third owner of this car who bought it from a friend (the second owner) who bought it from a friend (the original owner). I have owned it the last six years and would love to keep it longer, however, I just don't drive it enough. This car has been well maintained its whole life and is a joy to drive.
The Good: This car has no major mechanical issues and is drama free. In the six years I have owned it, it has started every time; even once after sitting in storage for 5 months it started on the first try. There are no issues with driving it, brakes are solid, it tracks on center, and offers no suspicious noises or vibrations. I have kept up-to-date on the service, and repaired small annoyances as they arose. The tires are newer, the soft top is newer, and I just replaced the headlights, tail lamps, and various fuses. The a/c was recently recharged and converted from R-22. Rust is minimal for the age and all body panels are in good condition. I also have a car cover for it that will be included in the sale.
The Bad: The paint finish looks great from a distance but up close there is some blotching and spotting. The "economy" gauge on the cluster does not work nor the the lights in the cluster. There was a recall for the timing belt and tensioner, however, this car did not have that service done, I did have it inspected about 1,500 miles ago and it was fine. One of the springs under the driver seat is bad, it is comfortable enough but you may want to replace it. The stereo system does not work great and should be replaced. The a/c and heat only come out of the defog vents, the controller was replaced recently and is under warranty, it is on my mechanic's schedule to fix
