Desirable Truck
For auction, a 1982 GMC 2500 Sierra long bed pickup truck showing 89,074 miles on the odometer, but the true miles are unknown. She's rougher than a stucco bathtub but there might be enough here to work with. We were unable to get this truck running with a jump pack on the battery.
Due to modifications of the emissions control devices installed by the manufacturer, please check your local, state, and federal laws to determine if this vehicle is applicable for use on public highways in your area.*

Exterior
The Almond body is completely peppered with rust spots and rusted scratches, along with dings and dents and faded lenses. Put some Vice Grip Garage's Shine Juice on this baby and call it a day, or dream of a fresh paint job. There are some rust holes in the fenders, doors, and rocker panels and some razor thin metal in other places. The chrome bumper in front is well aged and the diamond steel heavy duty unit in back has also seen better days. Back up front, the grille is cracked and some lenses missing or broken, but you probably know of aftermarket sources for those parts. The bed has remnants of the Valdez oil spill and particles have accumulated back there as a result, and there are a few holes. Put tires on your list too; they're shot.
Interior
Plastic door cards show their age and exposure but seem mostly intact and we hear they take paint well! The vinyl bench is torn and tattered and could use an Indian blanket or complete replacement, while the basic steering wheel and plastic faced instrument cluster are consistently worn and tired but pleasingly simple and analog. Our rear view mirror is down, the dash pad is cracked and the floor is covered by a rubber mat.
Drivetrain
Barn find condition is how we find the 350ci V8 under the hood, wearing a 4-barrel carburetor and mated to a TH400 3-speed automatic transmission. In back, the 2500's 14 bolt axle is in place.
Undercarriage
The single exhaust terminates abruptly underneath where conditions are a bit crusty and rusty. There is no muffler nor catalytic converter. All metal parts are textured with advanced surface rust and there are few holes present as well. Power brakes are supplied as front disc and rear drum and suspension is comprised of coil springs in front and leaf springs in back.
Drive-Ability
The truck does not take to the power pack and therefor does not crank.
For the money, this seems like a fun little project and a bit of a challenge. Record your progress with an iPhone, put it on YouTube and who knows, you might be the next Derek Bieri, (Vice Grip Garage)!
