It's Finally Convertible Season!!

I am offering the unique classic convertible for sale, now that the weather has finally warmed up. I purchased this vintage Mercedes Benz SL back in 2015 to restore it for my wife. She has enjoyed it all these years but now has another classic convertible in mind so this one unfortunately has to go to make room for the new one.

These SL models were made ftom 1972 thru 1989. This particular 380sl has been repainted a beautiful silver blue metallic and comes with the matching factory hardtop that was painted the same time as the vehicle. I also installed a new dark blue soft top that has held up well over several years. This car always gets attention and a smile from other drivers and onlookers. For those of you who appreciate the quality of a Mercedes you just can't compare driving a MB convertible whether it is going to dinner or filling up the tank and pointing the car in a new direction without a definite destination. We have created priceless memories with this vehicle and know the new owner will create their own.

I've put in countless hours bringing this roadster to its current condition both mechanically and cosmetically. The engine has been updated with a double roller timing chain and tensioner for peace of mind down the road. The motor was gone thru before we purchased it and was overhauled including seals and hoses replaced. I replaced all 8 fuel injectors, air tubes and misc engine components as needed. The car just needs to be driven and enjoyed as often as possible to keep everything well oiled.

I installed a new thermostat a couple of years ago and it operates at a steady temperature and has never overheated. The climate control system functions except for the air conditioning which we never bothered to have charged up. Besides, when you're driving with the top down who needs ac?

As for the interior, all of the gauges work properly and even the glovebox light functions. I replaced both window regulators and lubricated the door and window mechanisms. The door locks did not work when we bought the vehicle so I restored them to fully functional condition so that the same key works the ignition, both doors and the trunk. You will have peace of mind knowing this vehicle can be fully secured at any time. Comes with a second factory MB key straight from the dealer.

I have replaced too many parts on this classic to list everything and always replaced parts with genuine MB pieces. Here is a partial list of what has been done to this roadster:

Radiator flushed and proper blue MB coolant installed

Transmission serviced

Shifter bushings replaced

Parking brake cables and parking brake shoes replaced

Brand new exhaust system from catalytic convert back to the muffler

New fuel distributor filter screen

Replaced fuel strainer and fuel line to the pump

New fuel accumulator

New fuel filter

Several rubber fuel line sections replaced

Replaced front and rear shocks

Replaced front steering stabilizer shocks

Serviced alternator - new voltage regulator and bearings

Replaced accelerator pedal

Replaced brake pedal rubber pad

Replaced battery (2 years old)

Replaced chrome gtille surround (factory OEM part)

Replaced several Zembrano real wood trim pieces

Replaced complete interior carpet

Installed factory MB R107 floormats

Installed matching seat covers

Replaced antenna mast and serviced Hirshman power antenna assembly

Replaced front speakers

Installed custom NARDI mahoghany and polished aluminum steering wheel with MB horn cap

Please check out the photos I recently took to see the overall condition of this classic. It is not perfect and will require the typical maintenance a classic car needs. The reward of owning a car like this is that they are getting harder to find in decent running and driving condition and for my reasonable asking price.
