Classic Car Overview

This 1981 Corvette is esthetically an unusual car. The exterior of the vehicle has been maintained with its stock appearance while the drive train has been totally modified.

Starting with the color, it is an unusual, but original Corvette color that is classified by Corvette as a Beige, however, it is an extremely light beige which appears as almost a cream color that very much looks like Harley Cream. The interior of the car is a saddle color leather. The rear deck of the car which supports the tail lights etc. was originally vinyl and had a tendency to ripple, has been replaced with fiberglass. The wheels are the original stock design, but chrome plated to provide a high luster and easy maintenance. A point of interest relative to the wheels is the unique spinner design of the hubs, which is one of a kind, machined out of a 8 inch diameter T-304 stainless steel bar and polished to a chrome luster. As would be expected of a restoration, all of the glass has been replaced and tinted to compliment the also new mirrored T-Tops. For some strange reason, the appearance of this car is particularly attractive to female Corvette enthusiasts.

To compliment the attractive appearance of this car, the once emasculated 350 CDI motor was replaced with a GM ZZ4 Motor. The exhaust system was converted into a true duel exhaust system to match the upgraded headers. The engine power is transmitted through a 1900 RPM stall speed torque converter through a beefed-up 350 turbo transmission to a 355 gear rear end. Needless to say: it keeps up with the traffic.
