Classic Car Overview

1981 Chevrolet Blazer 4x4 - Arizona Truck - All Original, Patina Paint - Two Tone Silver & White - 350 V8 - Rust Free Example - Dealer Special! (Please note: If you happen to be viewing this 1981 Chevrolet Blazer on a website other than our Garage Kept Motors site, its possible that youve only seen some of our many photographs of the SUV due to third-party website limitations. To be sure you access all the more than 135 photographs, as well as a short start-up and walk-around video, and a link to the Blazers accident-and-damage-free Carfax history report, please go to our main website: Garage Kept Motors.) One thing is sure: the K5 Blazer deserves to be a much sought-after classic. -Silordrome.com, November 2018 The Silodrome automotive-culture website called it this way: The Chevrolet K5 Blazer did not attempt to clone the successful efforts of International Harvester and Ford but instead used them as a base guideline to create something that was literally bigger and better, at least in the minds of those who bought them rather than a Scout or a Bronco. That Chevrolet had pulled the perfect rabbit out of the hat was evident in the sales figures. The word-of- mouth reputation of the K5 Blazer was in all likelihood one of the principal things that had people opening their wallets for one: not only did Chevrolet have the right concept and design, but they had built it to deliver reliably what customers were looking for. Offered here is a 1981 Chevy Blazer in white-and-silver over two-tone gray. A longtime Arizona vehicle, its largely rust-free condition owes much to that dry climate. That said, while there are no signs of abuse or unusual damage, the trucks overall condition definitely shows the effects of regular, truck-intended use over 142,000 miles (roughly 3,550 miles per-year on average) and 40 years. No small amount of patina, a reasonable number of imperfections, but excellent bones, were behind our selection of this Blazer as our Dealers Special offering. While the more than 135 high-definition photographs and the short walk-around-and-startup video available on the GarageKeptMotors website showcase this 81 Blazer in detail from every angle, including from below, we expect and encourage in-person inspections at our Grand Rapids, Michigan showroom. Please call to arrange an appointment in advance as our showroom is not open to the public. And feel free to get in touch anytime by phone or email if you have questions. The Blazers factory-original exterior paint shows the effects of weather and age. Dulling, delamination, and some exposed primer (mainly on the hood and near the door handles) is evident. The white-painted fiberglass roof has fared better. The shiny finish on the front grille is dulled, but bumper chrome front and rear is in very good shape. Mirrors, door handles, body-side trim, and tailgate brushed-metal trim all show patina. (To best assess the quality of the paint and chrome finish, be sure to view the close-up photographs of the car in the accompanying gallery.) Factory emblems are all in place, but also show varying degrees of dulling. Lighting lenses and cabin glass (including on the sliding rear side windows) are clear. Factory steel wheels with chrome trim rings and 4x4 center caps (with some faded) are mounted with newer BFGoodrich All-Terrain T/A raised-white-letter tires. The interior gray-cloth-upholstered seating surfaces show various degrees of wear, discoloration, and damage. The dash top has a cloth cover (assume there is sun damage beneath it), and the rear cargo area has a fabric mat on the floor. Gray carpeting throughout is worn and shows dirt and stains. Cargo-area walls, door trim, console, and dash surfaces all show wear, minor damage, and generally imperfect surfaces. A Blaupunkt AM-FM stereo radio with cassette player has replaced the factory radio. Under the hood, the engine bay is clean and the 350-cubic-inch V8 appears unmodified. Ther
