Classic Car Overview
This Silver Targa is head turner and total fun to drive. I bought it in 1995 from a concourser when the odometer read 31,346. It has been used primarily as a weekender and although the odometer stopped working years ago, I estimate it has around 140,000 miles tops. Recent leak tests are all in the high 90's. With the paint fading and a parking lot door crunch, I had Euro Pros repaint the car. They also removed all the glass, seals and rust. Photos attached. In 2018, Matt Curry's Craftsman Auto (They maintain a GT3 he campaigns) went through the entire drive train of the car short of rebuilding the engine. Replacing all seals, oil lines, heater boxes, transmission linkage, etc. Photo of invoice attached. Since then, drives like a new car. The 1980 aircooled model is easy to maintain. I still change the oil myself and only take it in for tune ups which it rarely needs. The car is missing air conditioning. As a weekender, I just didn't feel the need but I have the compressor if someone's interested. Also, I have leatherette seat covers over the original leather that fit very well and look fine. Finally I have a quote of $800 to fix a lone patch of rust that I will do at some point.
