Classic Car Overview

1979 10th Anniversary Trans Am.

The sheet metal is 100% original as is the interior except for the the front seat covers which are PUI reproductions. The exterior decals are original and the paint on the front facia, hood, roof and rear facia is original. The fenders, doors and quarter panels were topcoated due to sunburn.

The car came with the 403 Olds and automatic which has been retained in original condition and come with the car. The current engine is a 1973 455 block with 66 heads and the internals that include forged rods and forged pistons were blueprinted and balanced. The cam is a Comp Cam hydraulic roller with specs similar to the Pontiac ram AIR IV cam. The intake is a 1972 Pontiac Factory 455 HO Aluminum Intake with a Sean Murphy custom Rochester Quadrajet. The exhaust manifolds are reproduction Ram Air III. The engine is cooled by a 4 core radiator and a remote engine oil cooler.

Mated to the engine is a rebuilt late 1970's wide ratio BW Super T-10 that is common to the GM F body of that time period.

The front suspension had new original spec coil springs and shocks. The rear suspension is original and has air shocks to maintain proper ride height. Subframe connectors were installed when the suspension was upgraded.

The clock, original 8 track stereo, power antenna and air-conditioning work. A new A6 A/C compressor was installed with R-134a this spring.
