This 1979 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am Special Edition was delivered new to Pat Clark Pontiac of Las Vegas, Nevada, and has undergone an extensive six-year cosmetic and mechanical refurbishment is said to have been completed and work consisted of stripping and refinishing the body and chassis, rebuilding the engine, transmission, and rear axle, and replacing interior, exterior, suspension, electrical, and brake components. Finished in black over matching velour upholstery, the car is powered by a 400ci V8 linked to a four-speed manual transmission and a limited-slip differential. Equipment includes the WS6 Special Performance and Special Edition Packages, removable T-top roof panels, a shaker hood, a Trans Am hood decal, gold graphics, front and rear spoilers, side moldings, power steering, power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, snowflake-style 15 wheels, air conditioning, power windows and door locks, and a Delco AM/FM/cassette stereo. This Trans Am is now offered with partial build sheets, manufacturers literature, PHS documents, refurbishment photos, and more.
Finished from the factory in Starlight Black (19), the car was repainted during current ownership and features removable T-top roof panels, gold pinstriping, a Trans Am hood decal, a shaker hood, front and rear spoilers, side moldings, quad headlights, and side-splitter exhaust outlets. Snowflake-style 15 wheels wear Firebird-branded center caps and are mounted with 225/70 BFGoodrich Radial T/A white-letter tires. A space-saver spare is secured in the trunk. The car is equipped with power steering as well as the WS6 Special Performance Package, which included power-assisted four-wheel disc brakes, a quick-ratio steering box, and larger-diameter sway bars.
