Windy City Warriors

From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Classic Car Overview

Sunnyside Chevrolet of Elyria, Ohio in conjunction with Gregs Sports, Classic, & Muscle is proud to offer for sale this beautiful 1979 Pontiac Trans Am 10th Anniversary Limited Edition. Let s start by saying the Trans Am market is pistol hot and, in our opinion, has not nearly hit its stride or peak as of yet. Then let s say that this is indeed an investment grade car. Having travelled just 5582 miles from new it s about as close as you can come to buying this as a year old, well cared for, car in 1980. We recently purchased this car from is owner since 1996. It has been well cared for. An old adage in collector cars says just buy the best one you can afford- this is a car for a true collector. When we say investment grade let s start with paperwork- we have the original window sticker, the original build sheet, an appraisal from 1983, and titles an registrations going back a good ways. The car was delivered new at RH Long Motor Sales in Framington, Massachusetts. The car is equipped exactly as it was from new and includes a the L80 403 V8, automatic, limited slip, air conditioning, and all the 10th Anniversary trappings from paint scheme, graphics, t-tops, and on and on. Never any rust or damage, no visible touch up areas, this survivor does have the occasional door ding and or chip or paint blemish. This car displays the patina of a car that has been cared for its entire life. When we drove this car around the block it performs exactly as one would expect it to. It pulls strong, is a very nice handling car and feels like a car that has only travelled 5500 miles from new. This car will be fully inspected and serviced in our shop and be ready for its next owner to enjoy. The only modifications that have been done to this car in its sheltered life include the installation of a large pipe exhaust system and what we believe to be a dealer installed Chapman Security System. Drive it, show it, keep it in a bubble and polish it as a prized possession, the
