VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

This 1979 MGB Limited Edition is finished in black with black vinyl upholstery and is powered by a 1.8-liter inline-four engine, with a four-speed manual transmission and electric overdrive (essential for highway driving). Equipment includes a black soft top, front air dam, chrome luggage rack, 14 GKN alloy wheels, power-assisted front disc brakes, and an AM/FM cassette stereo. It is a rust-free, west-coast (Seattle) car currently with a clean British Columbia title showing a (believed correct) 92,600 miles.
The car (with the current owner since 2014) has good oil pressure and has always run well. A front suspension and brake overhaul was carried out in 2015 and regular maintenance routinely carried out (most recently a major service in 2021 and a minor service in spring 2022). The leather-rimmed steering wheel ideally needs replacement. Moss Motors usually sells them for $275 (asking price has already been adjusted accordingly for this), but they are currently out of stock. The tires were replaced under current ownership and have less than 2,000 miles on them.
The dash has an 85mph speedometer, a 7k-rpm tachometer, analog clock and auxiliary gauges for fuel level, oil pressure, and coolant temperature.
As the car (presently in Vancouver, BC) was not manufactured in the USA, a 2.5% duty will be charged to get the car back into the USA. The seller can assist with any documentary or other formalities.
