From around 1956 until the mid 1980s, Dodge, Plymouth and even Chrysler squads were the most ubiquitous police cars in North America. In fact, the biggest department, the NYPD, used Plymouth and Dodge squads almost exclusively until the rear-drive M body car was finally axed in 1989.

Classic Car Overview

For sale in our Las Vegas showroom is this fantastically plush 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V. When new, these vehicles had a sticker price of right around $22,000, which made it the most expensive American-made vehicle of that year. Taking inflation into effect, this Lincoln would cost almost $84,000 in US currency today. Luckily, we aren t crazy enough to ask for that much. The 6.6 liter V8 engine purrs smoothly at idle and hums quietly down the highway, comfortable at any speed. The motor is backed by a silky smooth 3 speed automatic transmission. The motor and transmission were both rebuilt with full documentation and receipts of the work done. The motor has 1,000 miles on it and the transmission has 5 miles on it. It was made to feel like you were floating on a cloud while driving down the road. The smooth Burgundy paint breaks way to the Burgundy leather interior inviting you to sit for hours as you travel to wherever the road takes you. The underside is just as clean as the top showing minimal signs of any use at all. The glass is crystal clear and all the windows roll up and down without hesitation. Any imperfections in the road are simply ignored by the smooth suspension. This classy Continental is a throwback to a time when American vehicles were at the top of the luxury game, and a Lincoln was a status symbol to be reckoned with. This Continental is a wonderful representation of what it meant to be a high-roller in the late 70 s and is as smooth as they come. Options include: Air-Conditioning, Alloy Wheels, AM/FM radio with cassette, Leather Interior, Cruise Control, Power Brakes, Power Door Locks, Power Seats, Power Steering, Power Windows, Seat Belts, Tilt Steering Wheel, Heated Seats, and Power Mirrors. This 1979 Lincoln Continental Mark V is for sale in our Las Vegas Showroom and can be seen in greater detail including 100+ HD pictures and an HD video at https://www.gatewayclassiccars.com/LVS/1/1979-Lincoln-Continental-Mark-V.
