Original California car sold new at Hollywood Sportscars on 6/26/1979. The car changed hands twice before staying with its last owner over 30 Years.
Extensive maintenance records from the last owner show regular service and even a logbook of drives with mileage. Some of the services performed were a rebuild of the Koni Shock and a full engine rebuild including replacement valves.
Overall condition of the car considering its age is exceptional. Red exterior with black interior. The car is in preservation condition with normal wear on the paint and interior. The paint appears to be original however, records from Ferrari show the car was originally Fly Yellow. As best I can tell the paint on the car is factory so its likely this was a last-minute change to red from yellow and the records are incorrect. Ive looked and see no evidence of a repaint. The car was stored indoors, and Ive seen no rust anywhere.
1979 was the last year for the carbureted engines. This is the third 308GTB Ive owned, and it is by far the best driving. The stereo has been upgraded to a new Alpine with Bluetooth and new MB Quart door speakers. The side mirrors are Vitaloni and the wheels are later 16 308 wheels. Both changes were done in period and have been on the car more than three decades. An Ansa Exhaust is also on the car. Tires are Michelin and in good condition.
Scaling back my collection to one Ferrari and have recently sold two others. Only 2,185 Carbureted steel-body 308 GTBs were produced worldwide during 1977-80. This is a great car for someone that wants a hand-built Enzo era Ferrari for investment or enjoyment. Current mileage is 55432.
