Vehicle Overview

1979 Datsun 280ZX: A beautifully restored classic with a strong history. Ive owned this car for a few years after purchasing it from a father-son duo who spent years restoring it as a project. The body has 94,579 miles, but the engine was rebuilt in 2019 and has only 12,000 miles since. The car runs perfectly, and I recently replaced the clutch, starter, and alternator in summer 2024.

Additional features include power windows, a MagnaFlow exhaust, custom suspension, and unique custom tail lights. It comes with two keys and is ready for its next owner to enjoy. Unfortunately, I am moving to upstate NY for work and cannot take it with me. Serious inquiries only this is a well-maintained and loved classic!

Mechanical

The engine was rebuilt in 2019 and runs flawlessly with only 12,000 miles post-rebuild. The 5-speed manual transmission shifts smoothly, and the clutch was replaced in summer 2024. The car features BC Racing adjustable coilovers, providing a great ride and handling. The starter and alternator were also replaced in summer 2024. Brakes are in excellent condition, and the MagnaFlow exhaust adds a deep, clean tone. This 280ZX is mechanically sound and ready to drive!

Exterior

The exterior is nearly flawless, as 90% of the restoration was focused on the body and paint. The car features custom front and rear bumpers, along with custom tail lights that enhance its unique look. The black paint is in excellent condition, with a deep shine and no major imperfections. The wheels and tires are in great shape, complementing the cars aggressive stance. This 280ZX is a true head-turner and has been meticulously maintained!

Interior

The interior is mostly original, as the restoration aimed to preserve its classic look. The seats, dash, and trim maintain their factory style, with some minor wear. The front leather seats have a few tears, and there is a small crack in the dashboard, but neither detracts from the cars aesthetic. The heat works perfectly, but the A/C is non-functional, which is common for older cars. The radio powers on and the volume knob works, but since the antenna was removed during customization, it only picks up staticI personally use a JBL speaker while driving. Power windows work properly, and all other essential controls are intact.
