1979 Chevrolet Scottsdale BIG10 Patch Got Patina? You would with this rig! Patch is a South Dakota Native, named for obvious reasons.. Patch of paint here, Patch of patina there. Built at the Janesville, WI plant in April 1979. Bought New at Cassels Motors in Faulkton, SD and later traded in close by at Stobbs Motor Company in Miller, SD, just 41 miles south. There it was sold to the second owner where it was used to haul a water tank around the farm, very occasionally. We got if from a nice SoDak Truck Enthusiast in Mitchell, SD that rescued it from said farm. Couldnt pass up chance to resurrect this cool lookin BIG 10! - side note (The BIG10 package was basically 3/4 ton or Heavy Half as GMC called it. Designed to save on taxes in some states, and emission regulations in others.) Mechanical: Original #s matching 350 with only 82K miles. TH350 Automatic and 3.07 gear ratio. New fluids, oil change (good VR1 High Zinc oil), Plugs & wires, cap & rotor. Vac lines, PCV valve. New Radiator (rebuilt brass), hoses, coolant. New brake master cylinder. Carburetor rebuilt and more.. Runs, Drives and Stops as it should. Heater Works well, AC parts are there, but needs a charge.. but we dont need that in Wyoming. Interior: Factory Carmine Red Interior, Original Red Cloth seat has some splits in the fabric. Foam is excellent! Good & Firm, which verifies the mileage. Rubber floor mat, dash pad have cracks (see pics). Replaced the door panels with some neatly faded/patinad original GM Red door panels that were found in Montana. They match the look of the truck perfectly! Gauges, lights, instrument Panel works, except the shift indicator tab that holds the cable is broken. AM Radio works, so youll never miss your favorite talk show! Window tracks cleaned and greased. Good windshield and how about those Gun Racks? Comes with a Sweet Custom trash can made out of an old boot. Plus a vintage Keep On Truckin key chain! Exterior: Code 18 - Charcol & 17 - Mystic Silver Two-tone
