1979 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe

1979 C3 Corvette L-82, 4 speed transmission, factory 3.73 gear ratio, Tee-Top, Red with black interior, original wheels, lug nuts and center caps.

This Corvette restore was started in 1994 completed 2000 when the mileage was 50,200 miles.

The original 350 ci., L-82 engine in good running condition was replaced with a new, higher horsepower Chevrolet ZZ2 350 ci., crate engine, complete with intake manifold, valve covers, water pump, front cover, pan, spark plugs and distributor. Engine specs 355 HP, aluminum D-port angle spark plug heads. New Edelbrock 650 cfm carburetor was added, new Edelbrock air cleaner assy., new Thorley Tri-Y headers was added to the engine package.

Radiator was reconditioned, boiled out, tested and repainted
New radiator hoses, heater hoses and clamps
New radiator cap
New fuel pump
New exhaust system, mufflers, clamps and stainless exhaust tips
New flywheel, clutch, pressure plate and throw out bearing
New gear reduction starter
New belts
New disc brake calipers
Brake rotors turned
New brake pads
New LH and RH rear trailing arms with wheel bearing assemblies and rear hubs
New parking brake shoes
Rear differential rebuilt, new bearings, shims and seals.
New rear differential stub axles with hardened shaft ends
New carpet in passenger and driver's area
New OEM clock
New ignition switch
New key assembly in steering column
New OEM factory seat cushion covers passengers and driver's side
Original paint stripped, body checked for cracks, no damage found, body primed and REPAINTED in 2000
Ground Effects package was added at the same time the car was repainted.
New battery 2019

This Corvette will come with all the original parts removed to replace the engine assembly, the original L-82 engine is complete, air cleaner to the clutch (see pictures) and sitting in an engine crate. There are misc., air intake ducting pieces to match original engine air intake, rocker panel trim that was removed to install ground effects package. I have the original owners manual, factory service manual, and Corvette assembly manual.
The tires are 85% tread depth of new and are correct size and model for the time period.
Fox brand lined car cover is also included as part of the package. The original L-82 engine removed always stored inside.


This is one nice older Corvette, always stored inside and covered. Drives and runs as new.
