Vehicle Overview

A complete Sub-frame off restoration of this beautiful one of a kind 1979 Camaro Z-28 keeping the overall factory look but changing everything that really matters. 99% of the last twenty years this car has sat in a garage. I spent 6 years of those twenty out of the country waiting and ordering parts for the day I arrived back into the states. Covid hit in 2020! I spent the second half of 2020, 2022 stripping the car to it's core and slowly rebuilding it to what you see today. Sadly, I have a neck and back problem that has ended my ability to work on cars, or much of anything else for that matter. There are only two things that this car needs to be 100% complete. 1. Build custom trunk for stereo equipment that is installed but not built in as it should be (see pic) and the HDX*70C*CAM Dakota Digital Instrument Cluster needs a GPS*50*2 Module installed so the speedometer and odometer works.
The car was completely inspected by Orange County Cars a few weeks ago (100% perfect)
The A/C was just tested and is 100% perfect
The Interior: I replaced the headliner, carpet, rear quarter panels, sun visors, and instrument cluster, but as far as I know everything else is 1979 original. I did replace 90% of the Interior hardware.
All of the factory wiring and harnesses have been replaced (see parts list).

Since my first start-up I have test driven the Camaro 3 times (about 50 miles each). I've driven it up and down the block twice, and 5 miles round trip to V-Tech auto for the AC vacuum test and charge. I used a flat bed to take the Camaro to Orange County Cars and drove it home. That's it. The car feels and drives amazing.

The car was painted by second owner who bought the car from a storage unit auction (from what he told me) it had been in the storage unit for many years. It was a California car until it went into storage. It was painted in 2011. He bought the car to flip it. I'm the third owner. I spent at least 100 hours color sanding and polishing the paint to get it to what it looks like today. It looks like it was painted yesterday.
{When they painted the car they did not paint any of the jams. I had the door jams painted but the hood jams have not been done nor the underside of the hood (see pictures)I have the original hood pad but I chose not to put it back on because it is old and dirty.} It is a mirror finish and to the average person it passes the eye test. The paint is not perfect but a solid 8 out of 10. See pictures for any dings, or scratches, as I've documented them there. The sub-frame was powder coated during my build. The windshield was tinted when I purchased the car and has a few scratches (see pictures). This is a 00 rust car and the underside is rust and rot free. Still has the original undercoating.

This Camaro is not smog legal in California! It has no smog devices on it! I built it to be a Florida car and now I'm stuck in California! Know your local laws before bidding on it.

According to Edelbrock's spec this 383 Stroker was built to produce 475hp but I have not tested it except putting my foot down on the accelerator! It feels about right. I had a small valve cover leek onto my headers (see pics) It's no longer leaking but will forever remind me how important it is to torque your valve covers correctly.

There is no windshield washer tank on this car, yes, it can easily be added but I didn't want it. The windshield wiper motor is brand new and works. Doors close perfectly. All electronics work, lights, flashers, etc . . .

I have many videos on my Instagram I can share at your request.

Mechanical

All Mechanical devices are new and working perfectly. The Gearvenders overdrive is a perfect compliment to the original transmission. The drivetrain has all new bearings, axles, and driveshaft. It is a wonderful car to drive.

Exterior

The Camaro was painted in 2011, it is not show car perfect but it's an 8 out of 10. I've posted pictures of all the imperfections which 9 out of 10 people never notice. Most of them could be touched up and almost disappear with a good paint and body man. The glass all around the car looks a little aged and some minor scratches but nothing too bad.

Interior

When I restored the car I did my best to freshen up the interior keeping it stock but repainting the plastic parts, replacing all the hardware, updating the instruments and the cluster cover. The steering wheel is the original and in great shape. All the wiring and harnesses are new.
