Classic Car Overview
VIN 9118300971
L Series - Produced from August 1977 to July 1978
No. 971 of 2,438 ROW 911SCs produced
Completed - May 1978
An exceptionally well-preserved, first-year Rest of the World (ROW) 911SC Sunroof Coupe, presented in its original color combination of Mocha Brown (451) over Black upholstery. Original paint; this is a time-capsule early 911SC. The 911 SC debuted with the durable 3.0-liter flat-six that would define Porsches air-cooled 911 through the early 1980s.
The original paintwork is in exceptional condition, rarely seen on such a well-preserved example. The gaps and panel fit are excellent, while the exterior trim, rubber components, glass, and brightwork contribute to the 911s originality and cohesive presentation. The interior is equally impressive, with all-original upholstery featuring fabric inserts, a Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo, VDO instrumentation, power windows, and the classic 911 cockpit layout. Anodized 16-inch Fuchs wheels are mounted with Bridgestone RE760 Potenza 205 55 R16 front and 225 50 R16 rear tires. The undercarriage is solid, rust-free, and remains incredibly well preserved.
European Collectibles did a complete color correction and detail, enhancing the Mocha Brown finish while carefully preserving its authenticity. Mechanically, the 911 has been fully serviced, including the fuel system, fuel filter, fuel regulator, fuel injectors and seals, and fuel mixture adjustment. New spark plugs have been installed; the shifter bushings and steering bushings have been replaced; and the oil and oil filter were changed. European Collectibles documented 103 hours of labor, reflecting a thoughtful preservation program focused on cosmetic detailing and mechanical servicing.
Mechanically powered by a 3.0-liter flat-six engine (Type 930/03) producing 180 horsepower and paired with a 5-speed manual transmission (Type 915) with four-wheel disc brakes. This 911SC delivers the performance, steering, and balance that made the 911SC one of Porsches most enduring air-cooled platforms. Complete with tool kit, spare wheel, owners manual, service booklet, and recent service history. This Mocha Brown 911SC Sunroof Coupe is an excellent opportunity to acquire an original, well-preserved 911SC in a distinctive, desirable color combination.
Note: This is a Rest of the World 911 and cannot pass smog in California
