Classic Car Overview

Own a piece of history. This 1978 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe is finished in white over beige leather upholstery and powered by a 460ci V8 mated to a three-speed automatic transmission. Features include a beige partial vinyl roof, 15 turbine-style wheels, narrow-whitewall tires, chrome bumpers, hideaway headlights, air conditioning, cruise control, a power-adjustable front bench seat, an illuminated entry system, power windows, and a push-button AM/FM stereo. Work performed following the 2023 acquisition is said to have included repainting the driver-side headlight cover and rear fender skirt, servicing the front brakes, and completing an oil change. This Town Coupe shows 33k miles and is offered by the seller in Ohio with manufacturers literature, service manuals, spare parts, and a clean title. The car was finished from the factory in Polar White (9D) and is equipped with a beige partial vinyl roof as well as color-coordinated pinstripes and bodyside moldings. Additional exterior details include hideaway headlights, cornering lamps, rear fender skirts, opera windows, and chrome bumpers as well as a bright grille, rocker panels, and mirror caps. The power antenna does not function and the driver-side headlight door and rear fender skirt were repainted in preparation for the sale. Close-up images of worn paint along the trunk edge, pitting on the driver- and passenger-side mirrors, and areas of touch-up paint on the driver-side fender below the lower windshield trim are presented in the gallery. Turbine-style 15 alloy wheels are mounted with 235/75 Michelin X Radial narrow-whitewall tires. A full-size spare is housed in the trunk. The car is equipped with power-assisted steering and front disc brakes. The front brake pads and rotors were replaced in preparation for the sale. The seating surfaces are upholstered in beige leather joined by woodgrain trim on the dashboard and door panels. Additional amenities include a power-adjustable front bench, air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, an illuminated entry system, a Cartier clock, and a push-button AM/FM stereo. The driver-side door lock does not work. The two-spoke steering wheel fronts a horizontal 85-mph speedometer and a fuel-level gauge. The five-digit mechanical odometer shows under 34k miles. The 460ci carbureted V8 produced 215 horsepower when new and sends power to the rear wheels through a C6 three-speed automatic transmission. The oil was changed in preparation for the sale. Manufacturers literature, spare parts, and shop manuals are included in the sale.
