1978 FORD THUNDERBIRD TOWN LANDAU, 400 big block - V-8 Automatic, (Rebuilt title), My Mother and Father bought it about 47 yrs ago, They purchased it on July 17, 1978 NEW . The vehicle has been re-titled about 4 times since purchased. On June 17, 2024 the vehicle was titled to PF Auto, Re-built and titled back to me on August 3, 2024. On August 20, 2024 I sent the vehicle out to have the engine re-built for my wife for Mother's Day but was dissapointed, She said..... the Car was too flashie for her and she didn't show any excitement when I presented it on Mother's Day. I must say, throughout the years this Thunderbird has been good to our family and I'm sad to let it go. when my wife showed NO excitement, I immediately lost my interest in it, after 47 years. This was my Mother and Fathers car, we drove this on prom in 1980, and we have been driving this Thunderbird on Holidays and nice days in the summer for 30 years. Car is 47+ years old, so yes there are things that need fixing but it runs and shifts strong. THE ENGINE RUNS LIKE NEW!! Runs, rides drives like a dream, the odometer reads 54391, I believe it turned over 37 years ago. original mileage is 154391, the automatic transmission shifts great, sometimes when hot, the reverse hesitates for about 5 sec before it moves. Color is white with orange / stainless steal Landau top, the paint is great with few blemishes. white bucket seats. Still has the 8-track tape player (works), power windows (works) Power seats (Switch missing not working), Brakes are at 95%, New Battery. We always kept it in the garage most of the time. All lights work, the interior was re-done when car was repainted, looks great. The car rides great & stops great, the whitewalls tires are like new. You are welcome to come inspect it or send someone to inspect it for you, before you commit to buy.
