Classic Car Overview

Meet Frankie a 1978 Ford Explorer/F-150!!

She receives Oohs and Aaahs on a daily basis.  Men especially love to hear her purrr….something about that low, rumbling sounds makes them go into daydream mode.

Frankie  was bought into the family in 1978.  She was recently restored as a Father-Son Project and has had over $20,000 invested into her.  Yes, you read that right (I have receipts).  She has received a lot of tender-loving- care over the last couple of years.

She has a new long block V8, 302 engine which was installed by a Ford Master Mechanic and it has less than 3,000 miles on it.

Frankie has a new water pump, thermostat, starter, spark plugs, wires, bolts, hoses, window seal, door panels, weather stripping, fuses, valves, radio, speakers, battery, power steering pump, ….does this sound like the Johnny Cash I've Been Everywhere Man song, yet??? The list goes on and on…….

Th FMM installed a new heat and air unit in old Frankie too.  I mean kids theses days…who doesn’t want to ride around in a classic truck with the little wing open in 100 degree temps and 99% humidity.

Frankie  gleams with American Racing polished chrome wheels and 17” Firestone Destination tires and glass packs.

She was taken apart piece by piece- sanded and Bondoed…yes a real project. Thankfully, my FIL was an auto body guy and we didn’t have to buy some one the tools needed for this piece of the project (Cha-Ching$$).  The sanding and painting took place in my garage and although it was taped off like we had ET hiding in there, it still got fumes in our home. UGH…if they ever decide to do this again we are in need of a shop, or I need to go find an extended stay hotel (I prefer one with a hot tub and pool)!  This was a smelly mess, but Frankie  profited at my expense.  She is a show stopper of a gal!

As they neared the end of the project, they wanted to complete her with a spray in bed liner. Check…. Then it was Frankie needs a new chrome bumper  she needs a new chrome tool box.  I know we will never recover financially from the money invested into Frankie, (who can put a price tag on a father/son bonding/learning experience, right?) and I drew the line… Frankie comes with a rusty bumper and a rusty tool box.

We are looking for a new home for this Ford head turner, as our son will head off to college soon.  Frankie is awesome, but not for long distance commuting.  Yes, I am sure someday we will regret selling this shining beauty, but right now we need to get kids through high school and college and nostalgia comes with a pretty price.

Please make us an offer we can’t refuse on our beloved Frankie!
