However, the Datsun 240Z helped change popular opinion with bold styling and outstanding performance. It went from 0 to 60mph in 7.8 seconds and had a top speed of 125mph which was better than the Porsche 911 Turbo and Jaguar E-type while having a sticker half the price of the latter two.
