1978 Buick Riviera

This rare 1978 Buick Riviera is the last year of the rear wheel drive Riviera. Its finished in Medium Blue with a white padded landau vinyl top. This exceptional example has the rare optional 403 V8 (6.6 Liters). Equipment includes a chrome impact bumpers, stainless body trim, white pinstripes, opera lights, a power-retractable antenna, and remote-controlled sport mirrors. The car has 3,900 original miles and runs and drives like new. Private collection. The cabin features velour seat upholstery with burled wood accents on the door panels and dashboard. Options include air conditioning, cruise control, power windows and door locks, a power-operated drivers seat, intermittent wipers, a digital clock, under-dash courtesy lighting, original Riviera floor mats and a Delco AM/FM 8-track stereo. The car was purchased new at Benton Pontiac, Buick AMC by Herb Adcox, a local Chattanooga Chevrolet car dealership owner who sold cars for more than 60 years and was named Time Magazines dealer of the year in 1974. Herb gave the car to his brother who did not drive the car except on the rarest of occasions, and was parked in their family garage for a majority of its life. The car was eventually returned back to Herb and was kept at the dealership. Herb passed away in 2015. The car was part of the Adcox family collection, along with a number of other low mileage GM vehicles.
