VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

1978, ONE OWNER, ALFA ROMEO SPIDER
The one owner convertible has a double overhead cam, fuel-injected engine, was driven off the Ralph Schomp showroom floor in 1978 and operated in Colorado until 2001. Since then, it has been garaged and/or covered. A clear Colorado title is in my name. The vehicles engine is original, turns over easily and vigorously, but not running and cannot be driven without a motor rebuild or replacement. The odometer reads 79,879 miles.
This Alfa Romeo is an attractive project vehicle with excellent upholstery, fair paint, good top, but needs an engine overhaul. I kept all factory accessories that came with my new Alfa Romeo in 1978, including the original owners manual, car key fob and service documents starting in 1978, but two large folders of documents have been misplaced in a recent move. Everything is stock except for the passenger side mirror, a dealer installed roll bar, custom-painted side stripe and Alpine stereo. The bra is original, along with the tonneau cover, spare tire and other standard factory accessories, such as the Alfa Romeo stereo, comes with the car. The undercarriage, including the frame and chassis is nearly rust free. There is rust in the rear panels and trunk. Otherwise, the right buyer with mechanical skills can put this vehicle back on the road and enjoy the driving luxury of a true Italian sports car.
