Classic Car Overview

This is an opportunity to own an extremely rare, 1 year only car (only 1,377 ever produced)! There was a lot of buzz by Pontiac engineers about this car, but it dipped into Gran Prix sales. So when the mold broke for the rear spoiler management took the opportunity to scrap the Can Am completely! The Can-Am package includes the shaker hood, custom graphics, rear spoiler, radial tuned suspension, sport mirrors, blacked out grill, body color window louvers and more. We acquired this Can-Am from a high-end collector that weve done business within the past. It is said to have less than 22,000 original miles on the odometer, and it shows. It is numbers matching and Pontiac Historical Service documented. It was carefully restored to factory like condition and is now ready for a new owner to enjoy. EXTERIOR: The body is in mint condition; no rust or damage and it is straight as an arrow. It has been repainted once and reproduction graphics were applied. It was a high-quality job right into the jambs. It has been polished to a smooth and glossy finish that looks fantastic. The factory rally ll wheels are painted body color on the Can-Am package and these have been wrapped in Cooper Cobra radial GT 275/60R15 tires. The Trans Am Shaker hood (which has been cut open), sport mirrors, spoiler, body colored window louvers, graphics, and blacked out grill are some other options included with the Can-Am package. It appears the windshield has been replaced and is totally clear. The remaining glass looks original with only minor scratches. The bumpers have been rechromed and the rubber guards look fresh. The grill and remaining trim pieces look to be original and in great condition. What a sharp looking car from the 1970s! INTERIOR: The red interior adds even more pop! Sitting inside this car you just feel cool. It is extremely nice and clean and has a fresh look all the way around. The front bucket seats appear to have been recovered and look like new. The rear seat seems to be original and looks like its never been sat in. It has factory original seat belts all the way around. The carpeting, door panels, headliner and visors are in excellent shape. The dome light and accessory lights are in working condition. The center console and shifter are in excellent original condition. The dashpad, instrument panel, knobs, controls are excellent original as well. It includes the rally gauges and clock. The cushion grip sport steering is an option. This interior has all the telltale signs of a low mileage vehicle and looks absolutely incredible! ENGINE COMPARTMENT: We have an absolutely beautiful stock looking engine bay here! This one is detailed to factory new. The Can Am used the W-72 performance 400 engine, this one is #s matching to this car. The T/A shaker itself is affixed to the top of the Ram Air air cleaner with factory GM stickers, correct ductwork is in place and looks fantastic. It has correct chrome valve covers. It appears the block has been freshened up with its correct Pontiac blue color paint. The underside of the hood, fender wells and firewall are all smoothly painted the correct factory satin black. Insulation was added to the bottom of the shaker hood. It features power steering, power brakes and air conditioning. The brake master cylinder looks fresh, the AC system was upgraded with R134 freon. The remainder of the hoses and wires appear to be routed just like the factory would have done it. The squirters are hooked up, battery is secured, overflow bottle is hooked up. Even those blue fender bolts are correct. What a good looking and correct engine compartment! TRUNK COMPARTMENT: This is a clean and complete trunk. The underside of the lid and jamb is painted just about as smooth and shiny as the exterior. The weatherstrip and sticker has been replaced. Inside is spotless metal with factory style spatter coat finish and a reproduction mat. It also has a jack and matching white rally ll wheel for a spare. UNDERSIDE: The undercarriage appears to be stock and exceptionally clean. It has been freshened up during restoration. These come with the RTS suspension which includes sway bars among other things. The suspension and steering appear to be mostly rebuilt; bushings, shocks, ball joints etc. The front has disc brakes on the calipers look to have been replaced, brake lines look fresh, e-brake is hooked up. The entire dual exhaust system has been replaced. It has dual catalytic converters and Xlerator mufflers. Looking up at the 6.6 liter motor it is spotless including the starter. The VIN number matching Turbo 400 transmission also looks clean with no visible leaks. The power is then transferred to a posi rear end that has been neatly painted black. The floors look to be rust-free and have been freshened up with some black paint. SERVICE: Our professional team of mechanics has completed a thorough inspection of this vehicle and repaired or replaced the following items: replaced the steering center link, replaced the power steering gearbox, and lubricated the speedometer cable. This is an extremely rare low mileage, 1 year only car! What a blast from the past! This car is encapsules the true meaning of the word nostalgia! I, Jay Grams, take pride in personally writing the descriptions for virtually every car for about the last 30 years now. A significant amount of effort goes into fact checking. What I am offering is my professional impression of the vehicle. Our salesmen are happy to assist with descriptions and making sure your questions are answered. One great suggestion is letting us do a walk around video that explains the cars condition in detail. These cars are displayed in a museum. If interested in a particular car, make an appointment with a salesman to see that car. Without an appointment there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you buy a car, your admission will be refunded, and you will be given a 1 year membership. 815 385 3644 9-5 central Sales@volocars.com Answered ASAP Air conditioning Power steering Power disc brakes Posi rear Rally Handling W-72 performance Bucket seats Console Sport wheel Am-Fm Rally gauges Shaker hood Can Am graphics Rear spoiler Sport mirrors Blackout grill Window louvers Body color rims
