VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. Classic Car Overview

A very clean example....excellent floors, chassis, inner sills, etc, very clean body with older Tahiti blue paint. Just finished a comprehensive chrome bumper conversion including: elimination of side lights, new bumpers and guards, new grille, new sheet metal and lights.....lowered to pre 1975 ride height, now looks like an early (and most attractive visually) MGB. Excellent engine.....150-160 psi compression in every cylinder, 70 psi oil pressure when hot, no smoke, 32/36 DGV Weber carb, headers, perfect running, 4 speed transmission WITH overdrive (works well, clicks in and out like new), wire wheels, new chrome knock offs, very clean interior, stereo/CD, near new top, boot cover, AND all of the better things offered by late model MGBs....power disc brakes, front and rear sway bars, smoother engine, smoother gearbox, stronger overdrive, bigger gauges, a superior car. Truly a classic sports car one can use as an alternative to a contemporary car....capable of over 100 mph, easy cruising at 90+ mph, great steering and handling, sure braking, and excellent ride comfort. MGBS were (in their day) and are fun little sports cars. Superior electrical and cooling systems, really refined AND we can install modern air conditioning and a strong supplement heater allow this car to be comfortable in temperatures ranging from zero to 100 degrees.
