Lights! Cameras! Cars!

One thing that the crew at Volo Auto Museum understands is that context is everything. They have gone the extra mile to display each movie car with memorabilia and signage that brings the scene to life. The museum features actual movie props such as Tom Cruise's racing seat from Days Of Thunder.

Classic Car Overview

The 1977 Corvette arrived with only modest modifications. Inside, the console was redesigned to accept a larger array of Delco audio decks, its instruments were restyled for greater legibility and climate controls were simplified. They were also equipped with the optional leather-trimmed sport steering wheel with tilt and telescoping, leather upholstery was now standard as well as power steering and brakes. This particular example underwent a complete transformation in 2006 at just over 93,000 miles. It was taken down to the frame at which time the body was professionally fitted with fenders and bumpers from an 82 and it was repainted in Torch Red which still shows like new. At the same time the original 350 was replaced with a new ZZ502 GM crate engine rated at 502hp. It was fit with the best components money would buy such as aluminum heads and a hydraulic roller cam. It is fed via a Holley 140 GPH fuel pump, an 850cfm 4 barrel Demon Carb and an Edelbrock Air Gap performance intake. It is sparked with a MSD 8365 electronic ignition system and it sounds just plain nasty ripping through its Hedman Racing headers and Flowmaster Performance exhaust. The seats were recovered with new leather, a new carpet kit was installed as was a carbon fiber dash. It also has a newer JVC stereo with a built in CD changer and custom speakers that sound great. When it was built it had a rebuilt Borg Warner 4 speed. In 2009 at 97,071 miles it was replaced with a new Keisler TKO-600 5 speed manual transmission which smoothly transfers the power to an Ikerds posi rear end with 2:46 gears. Within the last year it was serviced with full synthetics, received a new Optima Red Top battery and brand new set of chrome Foose 18 3 piece wheels with beefy 275/35ZR18s on the rear and 245/40ZR18s up front. All said and done close to 50K was spent between the cost of the original car and the cost of restoring it to its present condition. We are serious about selling it which is why we are asking about half of what it cost to build. If you could see this sitting in your garage you should reach out as this one is destined to sell as fast as she goes!
