Exterior The K10s two tone coverage is a combination of dark red and medium red and overall, it shows some well earned patina with fading, discoloration, bubbling, and some real rust which well get to. For now, lets soak in the classic shape of the long bed square body and its high stance, perched on typical 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels and 70 series tires. The rear bumper is a virtual work zone, with various hitches and a trailer wire harness on a diamond steel topped bumper, slightly askew in its service. From straight on, we note round fog lights, a reddish bug guard, and trailer mirrors on the sides. From this angle, we note rusted rocker panels, peeling and cracked filler, and paint runs that would not make Bob Ross happy. The bed is covered with a full liner in good condition. Interior Red plastic door cards show some expected patina and open up to a gray tweed bench seat in nice condition behind a black steering wheel and basic instrument cluster housed in black plastic in overall decent shape. Vent levers are positioned over a period AM/FM radio while your guest gets the benefit of an attractive woodgrain insert and Scottsdale name on the dash ahead, all under a dash pad that shows some cracks. The red rubberized floor covering rolls over the transmission tunnel where the range selector is found along with an added cup and change storage bin. The headliner is simple red painted stamped steel. Drivetrain Driver quality under the hood where the 350ci V8 resides, topped by a 4-barrel carburetor and mated to a TH350 3-speed automatic. Power is received first by the 12 bolt rear axle with 3.07 convention gears and can be split to the front axle with the same ratio. Power brakes and power steering are on board. Undercarriage Red paint on the frame and bed belly set the backdrop for the components that show their age with surface rust and discoloration. Theres mud and road spray underneath and were okay with that as it seems right at home! Our spare tire bracket is hanging low just behind the 12 bolt. Brakes are noted as front power disc and rear drum and dual exhaust flow through stock style mufflers then exit east and west in front of the rear tires. Suspension is made up of leaf springs front and rear. Drive-Ability Upon start up, we notice some exhaust leaks but the 350 still provides plenty of power and the view from on high is pretty good, with a slider rear window providing a look at the bed. The truck tracks straight and were keeping things at pedestrian speeds due to the older tires that appear dry. The tachometer is not working but all other items function as they should.
