VW Kombi Van Seeing Resurgence in Popularity

The Volkswagen Kombi van reached iconic status, with even a school lunch box fashioned in its image. During those early years, the Volkswagen Microbus morphed into various forms. From a cargo carrier with no windows behind the driver's seat to a windowed passenger van with three rows of seats, the possibilities seemed endless.

Classic Car Overview

Super Fun Brick Red TR6 with upgraded tan interior and tan canvas top with clear windows. All chrome replaced or re-chromed, all new glass, and beautiful burl wood dash. Cruise along with an AM/FM CD stereo system. Electronic overdrive. Upgraded oil filter connection.  Rust proofed and no rust!  New Tires - Yokohama Avid Ascend LX  -  205/70 R15 - Eye catching and fun to drive!

This 1976 Triumph TR6 was restored 19 years ago and has been maintained and garaged since. The restoration included repainting from Tahiti Blue (146) to Carmine Red (82) and maintains its fresh shine.  The body is in excellent shape and the condition of the on-frame restoration has been well maintained.   The interior was originally Beige (74) and was completely restored in tan including new seat upholstery, new carpet, new tan door panels, and with a new tan canvas convertible top with crystal clear windows that has a separate tan canvas boot cover.  The trunk was re-trimmed with trunk liners and carpet.  The dash was replaced with a new burl wood dash, with Smith’s gauges, and includes an Alpine AM-FM/CD Stereo System (with removeable controls face) with front and rear speakers.  The front spoiler was replaced with new, the bumper overriders were removed and the bumpers were re-chromed (after overrider bracket holes were welded closed), the rear-view mirrors were replaced with new chrome bullet rear-view mirrors, the windshield was replaced with new, the headlights were replaced with new, all light lenses and bulbs were replaced, and all chrome was re-chromed or replaced with new.  The car has a 2.5 liter 6 cylinder engine, dual Stromberg Carburetors, an electric fuel pump (that replaced the mechanical fuel pump during restoration), a spin-on oil filter, a new battery, a dual exhaust system with quad-outlet, a 4-speed transmission with overdrive, 15” wheels, chrome trim rings, proper lug nuts, center caps, new Yokahama 205/70R15 Avid Ascend LX blackwall tires, and has rust-free underchassis, floors, and body (the body was injected with rustproofing).

I have the restoration component receipts that I received from the Seller (restorer) when I purchased the car 18 years ago, along with some of the original parts that were replaced during the restoration.  I also have the receipts from the work that I have done since purchasing the car.  That work includes replacing the 12 volt battery, replacing the alternator/belt, rebuilding the clutch/shifter linkage, replacing exhaust tubing, replacing rear axle u-joints, replacing the water pump and thermostat, rebuilding rear brakes and replacing front wheel bearings, replacing clutch master and slave cylinders and fluid lines, and replacing the speedometer cable.   I also have “The Complete Official Triumph TR6 & TR250 1967-1976 Driver’s Handbook & Workshop Manual” from Bentley Publishers.
