Classic Car Overview

Here we have a 1976 Mercury Cougar XR7 for sale. This is a gorgeous survivor car that has been freshened up and is a beautiful example of the Mid 70s Mercury Cougars. We will start off with the exterior of this Cougar. As we can see it is a two-door optioned car with a vinyl top. Its covered in the 3S optioned Light Blue paint that is accented beautifully by the Blue Vinyl top that has been replaced. The paint looks to be mostly original and has been buffed, polished and professionally ceramic coated to help it keep a nice finish. The blue is accented by the color matched side molding along with the side trim that has a brilliant finish. The rest of the exterior trim is very nice as well and youll notice that both the front and rear bumpers are in excellent condition. Also, the front grill is nice along with the corner marker lights and headlights. Out back the taillights are also nice. All the glass in this 76 is very nice for its age and shows to have been well cared for. To finish off the look its sitting on the stock Wheels with new center carps and a set of Hankook White Line Tires. Next, we will look at the interior of this XR7. On the inside its done in factory blue and appears to be mostly original. Both door panels and the rear panels are very nice and feature the front standard crank windows that go up and down with ease. This Cougar comes with the front and rear bench seats that are also very nice from the covers to the padding. They do show some light signs of aging but appear to be original and very nice. Looking at the dash we can see that its also very nice as it has all the factory gauges and the factory radio along with the factory ac option. The headliner and carpet have a great fit and we can see that the visors are nice and that the dome light is working as it should. Inside the trunk is solid and is detailed out with the factory quarter panel inserts and trunk liner. It also has the factory jack and spare. Finally, we will get to the driveline of this Mercury. Under the hood we can see that it looks close to stock and is very well cared for considering its age. The inner fenders and firewall are all solid and in great condition. The power comes from the original 351 V8 engine thats set up with the 2-barrel carb. Its dressed out in factory valve covers and air cleaner. We can see that this Cougar comes equipped with factory Power Steering along with Power Brakes that feature Disc on the front. We can also see that its set up with Factory Air Conditioning. The 351 runs through the original C4 Trans that goes out back to the factory rear end with 2.75 Gears. For exhaust it has the stock manifolds with the factory style single exhaust that goes out the back. When we look under this XR7 you can see that it has remained a southern vehicle as the floor panes and frame are all rock solid. This Cougar has had a new gas tank installed as well. On the highway this a smooth driving classic that shifts through the gears great and is a pleasure to drive. Dont miss your chance at beautiful mid 70s Mercury Cougar!
