Classic Car Overview

1976 Chevrolet Vega in bronze with matching bronze cloth bucket seat interior, transformed into a serious street machine with a 383ci stroker small block backed by a TH350 automatic with a B&M shifter. This is a frame-off restored Vega with a detailed painted undercarriage, Spohn Performance rear control arms, updated suspension components, and an upgraded rear end built for traction.

Power steering and power front disc brakes (rear drums) make it civilized in traffic. Cragar SS chrome five-spoke wheels wrapped in BFGoodrich Radial T/A tires give it the right stance, and the side-exit dual exhaust gives it the right voice. Aftermarket tri-gauge cluster keeps an eye on the 383s vitals, and an 8-track player keeps the period vibe inside the cabin.

The dash shows 82,344 miles, but the speedometer and odometer dont currently function - true mileage is undocumented. The 383 stroker is not original to the chassis (no Vega left Lordstown with a V8), and we dont have a build sheet on the engine internals. Theres a paint crack visible near the rear spoiler and a small rust bubble on the hood, both pictured in the listing photos. Body is otherwise straight and presents well.

V8 Vegas are uncommon survivors. The Vega platform was light to begin with - around 2,300 pounds in stock form - and a 383 stuffed under the hood makes for a deeply quick car with a power-to-weight ratio that embarrasses cars with much larger badges. The H-body platform shares its architecture with the Cosworth Vega and Monza, and the short wheelbase makes for a properly aggressive street car.
