1976 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray

This 1976 Mako C3 Corvette Stingray is an older restoration that could use a little TLC, but it remains an absolute head-turner with outstanding paint, incredible performance, and a unique presence. Powered by a built 434ci Shafiroff engine, Holley Terminator fuel injection, and a Viper 6-speed transmission, this car is an absolute beast on the road.
I had limited communication with previous owners and shops, including Shafiroff in New York, where the engine number was confirmed as one of their builds. One prior owner stated the car dynoed at 749 horsepower at a shop in Ohio, although I was unable to obtain documentation. After driving it, I certainly wouldnt dispute that claimit feels every bit that powerful.
The previous owner installed staggered wheels and tires with 20-inch rears and 18-inch fronts, and they have less than 300 miles on them. He purchased the car from an owner in Illinois in Spring 2022, and I purchased it in Fall 2024.
The car features a pleasantly loud dual exhaust system through headers, along with electronically controlled exhaust dumps that take it from aggressive to absolutely wild at the push of a button.
Recent work totaling approximately $4,000 was completed last summer, including a new cooling fan, header gaskets, heat-resistant plug wires, and additional maintenance items.
Flaws and items to note include a small scratch on top of the hood bulge that needs touch-up paint, and the A/C components are present, but the system is not charged. The sound system includes an amp and large professionally installed speakers, but no radio/head unit. A small hairline crack has also recently developed on the nose between the hidden headlights, just forward of the emblem.
I currently have about $36,000 invested in the car, and its obvious much more has been spent over the years. Im not mechanically inclinedI simply fell in love with the car. Its pretty, unique, incredibly fast, fun to drive, and offers two different levels of loud depending on your mood.
I have several other vehicles and simply dont drive this one enough, so its time for someone else to enjoy it.
