The Most Desirable Corvette Ever?

The 1967 Corvette is considered the most-loved Corvette ever produced. The combination of classic C2 styling, along with an incredible array of powertrain and comfort options, makes it one of the most desirable Corvettes ever. Not bad for a car that was never supposed to be made!

Classic Car Overview

1976 Chevrolet Corvette Coupe For consignment, a Corvette coupe right of the year 1976 and sporting a title verified 41,753 actual miles for this garage kept beauty. Purchased locally by our consigner in November of 2004 it underwent a total engine rebuild in 2008. It sports snappy paint in Bright Yellow bathing the fiberglass, all neoprene bumpers and no chrome save for the rocker trimming that exaggerates the coke bottle design. T-tops are removable and this year is probably my favorite rear treatment with the rounded over look and circular tail lights. Due to varying emissions control devices being removed, please check with your state, county, local or provincial motor vehicle department to verify the ability to legally register this vehicle in your area Exterior Screaming Bright Yellow drapes the undulating totally rounded over design of this car. In contrast, most cars of this era were planted firmly into the square and rectangle design, however this leftover survivor of the muscle car era, is having none of that! Brightwork is minimal but in good condition and shows up on the door handles, front glass frame, side view mirrors and rockers. The remainder of the car is Bright Yellow painted neoprene for the chrome-less bumpers and fiberglass body. The headlights flip up and down when the knob is pulled. The rear deck is accentuated by the flying buttress B-pillars framing a vertical small rear window. This transitions to the back bumper of the car which has the round tail lights inserted deeper into the rear fascia and on the drivers rear quarter panel is the power antenna in chrome. 15-inch polished aluminum wheels are wrapped by raised white letter BFG Radial T/As 245/60R15s looking barely used. Interior Black leather buckets are showing some slight folds as nicely aged leather tends to do. These high backs have a sleek design and present mainly flat in design compared to todays seats that are like NASCAR racing seats! The door panels showing in black as well, have a sporty wood appliqu panel in their uppers. The center console races forward from the rear storage area and houses the hand brake lever, and this drives the eye forward to the shifter lever and temp wheels. Just above, 5 round smaller gauges grab the drivers attention along with some warning lights flanking these gauges. The deep set gauges in the dash are original, and are mounted within a black dash front with a darker stitched padded dash top. A black rimmed 4 spoke steering wheel fronts this darkened dash and clean black carpeting is throughout the passenger compartment. In back is a fairly extensive carpeted area for more storage and where the battery is housed. Above are removable T top panels. Drivetrain A lift forward of the curvaceous hood, and we see the numbers matching 350ci V8 in L82 form. It sports the factory heads and presents with an orange/red GM block and cast ribbed valve coverings and chromed air cleaner covering. A single 4 barrel carburetor feeds this 350 and on back is the numbers matching T10 4 speed manual tranny. The rear axle is a 3.36 ratio version. For the exhale is dual pipe setup with dual exits but sans catalytic converter. All is clean and nicely preserved in this engine bay. Undercarriage A rust free unibody underside that has power disc brakes all around, and fully independent suspension on all 4 corners. Clean under here as well! Drive-Ability The car started right up, and ran well. Good handling, and nice overall ride with the power steering making turning a breeze. Bias free panic stopping, and a comfortable overall ride with rail like handling. A few functions were note working during my drive and include the horn, heater blower, AC and clock. Our consignor states the AC compressor is the problem. A looker and a definite cooker, this survivor driver Stingray needs no introduction when it shows up in your suburban driveway. Your neighbors will be able to hear and if close enough feel the rumble, and there they will notice the sculpted looks of this 1976 last year of the Stingray Corvette. Remember Corvette means a small nimble warship, so I-de-clare-WAR! All in screaming yellow. 1Z37X6S409255 1-Chevrolet Z-Corvette 37-Coupe X-350ci V8 4bbl L82 210hp 6-1976 S-St. Louis, MO Assy Plant 409255-Sequential Unit Number TRIM TAG C27-October 27th TRIM 192-Black Leather PAINT 56L-Bright Yellow Classic Auto Mall is a 336,000-square foot classic and special interest automobile showroom, featuring over 850 vehicles for sale with showroom space for up to 1,000 vehicles.
