Classic Car Overview
History as I know it: My father purchased this car in about 2015, from a family, the owner passed away. I replaced the gas tank initially, as the car was in a garage for an extended period. The inspection sticker on the car is dated 1989 (I left it on there), and I believe the car sat for a while after the owner passed away. There are a few dings and dents, which I photographed, probably from the original owner and from storage issues, as these require a lot of garage space. Note the driver's side trim above the headlight, passenger side near the outside mirror, one dent on the rear trunk lid. My father became ill and passed away, and I have had the car since. The vinyl top had a few tears, due to storage issues, so I had it replaced. There were no rust issues underneath the top. If you are familiar with these, and the 460, this one sounds like it did new and rides like a big Lincoln should. This is a nice straight car, and essentially rust free, with the exception of a small spot of surface rust above the driver's side front headlight assembly, and a small spot on the bottom wheel well behind the driver's side front wheel. This car has the sliding vent windows, which are notorious for sliding off the track. The passenger side needs glued back, which is not too hard. The windows work as they should, this one just popped off during the time I've had it. The chrome trim around the rear tail light has separated and likely needs replaced, all of the lenses are good.
The interior is very nice, the seats and carpet are excellent, as well as the dash which has no cracks. The door straps are also excellent, as they tend to crack especially at higher mileage. There is no rust in the seams along the bottoms of the doors, the steering wheel has no cracks and is excellent (no sun damage) all indicators that the mileage is actual, in addition to the inspection sticker. I can only describe this as driving a couch down the road, it's a treat.
This is an honest driveable car in presentable condition, but I would rate the paint in fair condition, and in need of some TLC and cosmetic things. The body is straight, the lines are perfect, bumpers are straight with no issues Please ask any questions, I can take additional photographs. It's hard to purchase anything like this online, without seeing it in person, so anything I can to to alleviate apprehension let me know. I want honesty when I'm buying as anyone else should when they're on the other end buying, so I want an honest listing. This one had the optional Town Car trim. It seems as though the Lincoln market has had an uptick recently, as shown in the prices. The list price I feel is in consideration of the cosmetic issues that are present, but with this being said, it would not be difficult or take much to have this low mileage car go from good to excellent condition, and not have to pay what others are asking for these.
