1975 International Harvester Scout $2,995

8 Cylinder · 110,000 miles

Looking to sell a 1975 International Scout II for $2995. Bought the truck to start a lifelong desire to restore but other things came up and cannot start it. The 304 V8 fires right up and is really strong. No knocking and the truck yard drives. If you have been searching for Scouts you will know that all of them have rust issues. This one also has rust issues however the frame is very solid as are the body mounts. Before you come out please do the research and know that other Scouts are selling for more in various conditions. This one is priced accordingly knowing that all sheet metal needs to be replaced. Engine, Dana 44's and a clean title is worth the asking price. Here is the good, the bad and the ugly.

The good:
Strong original sought after drivetrain.
304 V8, manual transmission that is working and sounds great.
Dana 44 axles front and rear
Operational Manual locking hubs
Four high and low
Frame solid as are frame/body mounts
Clean MA title
Tires (32x11) and wheels are okay
Glass good no cracks, Rear Glass is good and Rear hatch is operational.
Runs strong
Heavy duty clutch
Transmission good
Transfer case good
Hood and firewall solid as well as the grill

Lights working

Restorable Scout and all sheet metal available aftermarket
Windows are functioning

Truck has slight suspension upgrade which gives it a great stance.

Dashboard, Instruments and Steering wheel in great shape.

Shift Column in great shape.

Brakes Working

The entire floor of the interior needs to be replaced. I have found on websites for less than $1000. Currently there are wood floors in the driver and passenger side.

Rockers gone under doors

Body Panels need replacing
Sheet metal rough shape
Runs off aux fuel tank in cab and will need new fuel tank.
No interior except a driver’s seat
Holes abound

Doors do not align with body panels as the rotted rockers have made them sag over the years.

Takes some manipulating to get the doors to close, probably need new hinges.

Restored these V8 4x4 scouts with Dana 44's sell for $30,000-$50,000. All sheet metal panels available in the aftermarket on the cheap. Every nut and bolt and seal available as well. This entire car can be built from a catalog or online Scout sites.  Bring a trailer and your welding skills and you'll have a sweet restoration project, off road rig, or parts vehicle. Parts alone (engine, drivetrain, glass, axles, and frame) worth the price and a clean MA title! I have a video which was taken two weeks ago showing it operational.  I also have a video of the engine running. If you think you are going to pick this up and register it to drive, then don’t bother coming. It is a project, but for someone with a garage, a welder and sometime this is going to be a sweet ride.  Great hunting, fishing and camping vehicle once complete. NO TRADES…CASH ONLY Must have means to pick it up in Suffield, CT.
