Classic Car Overview

1975 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible For Sale This 1975 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible marks the final year Chevrolet built a drop-top Corvette before pulling the body style from the lineup entirely, a gap that wouldnt close until the convertibles return in 1986. Finished in white over a beige/tan interior and showing 84,000 miles, this example comes with both the factory removable hardtop and the included white soft top, giving an owner the option to run it open, closed, or somewhere in between depending on the day. Under the hood is the base 350 L48 V8, the standard Corvette engine for 1975. Rated at 165 horsepower from the factory, its backed by a 4-speed manual transmission and a 3.55 geared rear end, a combination built around driver involvement rather than easy cruising. Braking is handled by disc brakes at all four corners, a feature that had been standard on the Corvette since the mid-1960s and one of the reasons these cars still hold up well as drivers today. The beige/tan interior pairs cleanly with the white exterior, and between the two tops, this car is set up to be used across seasons rather than limited to fair-weather duty. 1975 was a genuinely transitional year for the Corvette. It was the first model year Chevrolet fitted catalytic converters and high-energy ignition (HEI) to the car, and convertible production itself was on the way out, with only 4,629 convertibles built for the year, about 12 percent of total 1975 production, before the body style disappeared entirely for the next decade. That combination, low convertible production, last-of-its-kind status for over a decade, and a manual transmission, is what makes 1975 convertibles a specific target for collectors chasing a C3 with real driver involvement and a defined place in Corvette history.
