Classic Car Overview

1975 Chevrolet Corvette Convertible For consignment, a 1975 Chevrolet Corvette convertible showing 36,816 clicks on the odometer but the true mileage is unknown as per the title. What is known is that it has a matching numbers engine, an accessory hardtop, and some restoration done by some well known Corvette experts in southeastern PA. Exterior Two stage Medium Saddle Metallic paint covers this plastic fantastic American sports car, a shade of brown that highlights the sensuous lines of the Corvette and subtle body lines like the slightly raised cowl hood. The Coke bottle shape consists of front fenders that arch over the wheels and a shoulder line that is articulated from the door handle back to the rising sweep of the rear fender, only to terminate at the smooth, rounded tail where inset quad tail lights are inset and distinct. The saddle even coats the license plate box as if a decorative frame while front fender vents present another square design cue that bends the body to guide the air rearward. Below them, chrome side pipes hug the metal rocker panel, flanked by 15-inch Chevrolet Rally wheels with brand new 225/70R15 tires sporting a mid 2024 date code. The hardtop is in great shape and fits the curves of the car, while the canvas top is a bit soiled but of more concern is the front brace being disconnected and the rear mounting studs being missing in action. The only other imperfection is some under spray on the bottom edge of a front quarter panel. Interior Medium Saddle plastic door panels look clean and are augmented by faux woodgrain panels and metallic hardware and trim, with a lower carpet panel that is pleasantly not perfectly horizontal. Saddle vinyl high back bucket seats are in good shape and flank an armrest that heads the center console where the shifter and roller style climate controls reside, all in a faux woodgrain base that mimics cherry wood. The vinyl surround could use a good detail, and everything has a touch of patina. And patina visits the 3 spoke steering wheel and column as well which fronts the plastic housing of the instrument panel. The epic center stack always conjures thoughts of aircraft with a myriad of gauges over an AM/FM radio. Camel loop carpet is in decent condition and topped by Corvette branded carpeted mats. That loop carpet is also found in the rear cargo area and is in good condition. Drivetrain Under the hood is where we find the numbers matching powerplant, a 350ci L48 V8, topped by an Edelbrock intake and 4-barrel carburetor and rated at 165 horsepower. Behind it, a T10 4-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear axle with 3.36 gears. As a respectable sports car, this Vette is equipped with power disc brakes all around. Undercarriage Driver quality patina is found underneath with plenty of surface rust and evidence of many happy rides and only residual oil on the pan and transmission. Polished headers snake to the side of the car, meet a collector, and unite as one side pipe on each side. Full Independent SLA type with coil springs is the suspension and includes several cast aluminum components for extra weight loss. The rear suspension is a traditional independent design with a transverse leaf spring. Drive-Ability She fired right up and on the test loop, it performed beautifully. Nice smooth acceleration, smooth shifting and good brakes. It handles like its on rails and the convertible option is a nice feature allowing full sun to shine in, and air to envelop the passengers when in forward motion. We note the A/C is not working nor does the clock, making time stand still. All other functions work as they should. While Classic Auto Mall represents that these functions were working at the time of our test drive, we cannot guarantee these functions will be working at the time of your purchase. Numbers matching holds some weight with this car and nice paint, fresh meats, and a fun stick means there may be many Corvette summers in your future. Not to mention spring, fall, and if youre fortunate to live in a sunshine state, winter as well! 1Z67J5S401595 1-Chevrolet Z-Corvette 67-Convertible J-350ci V8 L48 4bbl 165hp S-St. Louis, MO Assy Plant 401595-Sequential Unit Number Classic Auto Mall is home to more than 1,000 classic and collectible vehicles for sale via consignment in a climate controlled 336,000-square foot showroom (thats more than 8 acres!).
