The Bricklin SV-1 was produced from 1974 to 1976 and was the vision of Malcolm Bricklin, who sought to create a high-performance sports car focused on safety hence the name SV-1, or Safety Vehicle One. Built in Canada, the SV-1 was known for its futuristic design, highlighted by its gullwing doors and impact-absorbing bumpers. Underneath, it was powered by a reliable American V8 and backed by tried-and-true Ford mechanicals. Though only around 2,900 units were built in 1975, the SV-1 has maintained a cult following due to its rarity, distinctive styling, and ambitious engineering for its time.
