For 1974, Porsche released a series of significant modifications to the 911 to appease the ever-changing safety and emissions laws of the US market and consumer demands for increased luxury and performance. Now referred to as the 'G-Series' by brand enthusiasts, the second-generation 911 is most easily distinguished from its predecessor by its well-integrated impact bumpers with rubber bellows - a style that would stick with the model until its replacement by the 964 in late 1989.
The engine of the car was also updated, with all models in 1974 receiving a 2.7L unit and, for the US, Bosch CIS K-Jetronic fuel injection. For the base model car, this meant 143hp and increased torque over the preceding models. Fourth and fifth gears were slightly lengthened for better cruising and interior appointments were modernized. Naturally, these updates were made with much acclaim in-period - today, early 'G-Series' 911s are well regarded and have dramatically risen in value over the last ten years.
The spectacular 1974 Porsche 911 2.7 Coupe featured here is finished in striking Bitter Chocolate (Brown) over a Cinnamon interior. This investment-grade Porsche has been meticulously maintained and driven a mere 20,688 miles from new. Featuring factory air conditioning, an AM/FM radio, and Fuchs alloy wheels, this magnificent 911 is the perfect choice for a premier collection. We are proud to offer this incredibly well-preserved, low-mile Porsche 911 to the most demanding collector, investor, or enthusiast who desires to own one of the very best at an investment price!
