Classic Car Overview

Celebrating our 65 year anniversary! This family owned and operated business was established in 1960, making us the oldest classic car dealership in America. Special thank you to all our customers for entrusting us to park the car of your dreams in your driveway while preserving automotive history for future generations to embrace and enjoy. -Grams family & Volo Museum staff #s matching throughout! Frame off, rotisserie restored to factory condition. 1 of only 731 Super Dutys with automatics made! Pontiac Historical Services documented. The legendary Super Duty: Early 1970s was a time where cars were heavily regulated, emissions and gas mileage were far more important than horsepower. A few engineers at Pontiac still had the need for speed. The Super Duty was built under the radar from the top brass. It may look like the standard 455, but thats all they have in common. These were special cast blocks that were hand assembled with upgraded performance parts. This is considered the last muscle car of that era. EXTERIOR: This body was stripped down to a bare shell and put on a rotisserie, we have pictures. It is clean and straight from the rockers to the roof. The panels, spoilers, bumpers all align properly. Those big doors even close effortlessly. Repainted its original Admiralty Blue and polished to a mirror finish. Fresh decals including the hood bird. All the weatherstrips and seals were replaced. The rally II wheels were restored and are wearing BFG tires. INTERIOR: Rare saddle interior with the blue exterior looks rich. It is very fresh and detailed from carpet to headliner. It has been dyed all one color, the plastic trim, console, door panels all match the seats perfectly. The machine turned instrument panel looks great around the rally gauges. I also love the formula wheel which is on a tilt column. Other options include power windows and a rear window defogger. ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Original born with Super Duty engine. Original #s matching 455 block and its components, we have photos of the numbers before the restoration to really verify authenticity. The heads, carb, distributor and even the alternator are original. The SD blocks were strengthened: they had 4 bolt mains, forged rods, aluminum pistons, ram air cam, high flow heads, a unique intake, an 800 CFM carb and ram air exhaust manifolds. Each engine was hand assembled to keep tolerances tight. There is a sticker on the valve cover that gives specs that are typical of a race engine. Unique to the SD the breather hose attaches to the oil cap. The HP was net 290, gross 390 and it made 395 lbs of torque. This was much higher than any other car produced at that time. It features factory air conditioning, power steering and brakes. It is complete including the ductwork off the air cleaner, squirters are hooked up, it has a Delco battery topper, the overflow bottle is in place, and the brake booster is cadmium plated etc. TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Under the trunk lid and the jamb were painted very nicely. They replaced the weatherstrip and sticker, it even has a working trunk lamp. Inside is all clean metal with an insulated trunk mat. It has a restored jack assembly and rally ll rim. UNDERSIDE: Every component was removed from under this car and then it was put on a rotisserie. The floors are completely rust free metal that was correctly sprayed with the red oxide primer then all the components were restored, rebuilt, detailed and reinstalled. First year for the Radial Tune Suspension which was completely rebuilt. It has fatter swaybars front and rear. It has a correct exhaust system with transverse muffler and polished slash cut tips. The fuel system was replaced including the tank. The brake system was completely rebuilt to stock with disc in front and working e-brake assembly. Looking up at the motor it is clean, starter look new. The Turbo 400 automatic is also fresh and is original to this car with matching VIN number and its original 1974 tag. The rebuilt driveshaft leads back to its original posi rear with 3.08 gears. SERVICE: We take pride in our cars and reputation. Therefore, we built a 2 million dollar, 10,000 square ft service center, and hired a team of technicians to work it. This is so we can sell you the best cars within reason. Only 1,296 Firebird Super Dutys were made total in all years, all models. How many still exist? Only hundreds of people on this entire planet can say they own one. Here is your chance to not only own one, but own one of the best ones! For nearly 30 years, I, Jay Grams, have personally written the highlights for almost every car in our collection. What I provide is my professional opinion based on my experience with these vehicles. However, opinions can vary, and I strongly recommend a personal inspection to form your own view. Our sales team is always available to answer any questions you may have. One great option is to request a personalized walk-around video, where we can showcase the car and share our teams insights. Our cars are displayed within a museum setting. If you are interested in a specific vehicle, please schedule an appointment with a salesperson to view it. Without an appointment, there is an admission fee to enter the showroom. If you decide to purchase a car, your admission will be refunded, and youll receive a one-year museum membership. 815 385 3644 9-5 central Sales@volocars.com Answered ASAP Super Duty PHS documented Air conditioning Power steering Power disc brakes 3.08 posi Deluxe interior Console Tilt formula wheel Lamp group Power windows Rear defogger
